Yard hydrant runs when handle is shut off AND water flows up from the ground around the pipe.

Worked just fine when we opened it last week, wife went to water plants today and told me it wouldn’t shut off even with the handle completely closed. Went to inspect and noted a few things: water did indeed flow even though the handle was off; water was coming up out of the ground around the standpipe; pushing faucet head straight down into the ground gave noticeable slowing of water flow from spout and ground, the fixture maybe moved an inch or two vertically. Only way to stop the water flowing for good was to shut the well pump off. Am I most likely looking at having to dig up the standpipe and replace the entire unit?

Repair without welding

Accidentally ran over one of my fairly expensive Cliq collapsible chairs last year and managed to repair the leg damage, but noticed that the main connector/hinge where the legs all attach has a cracked at one of the corners. These chairs don’t receive more than 225# of weight sitting in them and obviously this isn’t a critical piece of equipment. I believe this piece is cast aluminum and I’m wondering what might work to repair the damage without welding it (if possible). Unfortunately the fin of material (red arrow) on the inside of the main housing is too thin to drill/tap/screw. I’d hate to have to pitch the chair as otherwise it functions just fine, any and all ideas appreciated!

I'm installing overlays and replacing the original bulbs with an led kit but can't access the 4th brake light due to the OEM rear diffuser, which installs over/around the body of the light and so far has been a complete roadblock to me. The silver trim portion is held on with double-stick tape and the diffuser has multiple clips that area easy to remove, but then underneath one layer of material there are a couple of bolts/screws that I can't access without drilling a hole over their location on either side. Has anyone else run into this and figured out how to remove the diffuser for proper access, or is there another way I'm too stupid to have noticed?
