Best weapon for a Bladesinger?
Looking for good synergies with different feats. Open to options with and without weapon masteries (via a 1 level dip).
Fun combos more interesting than damage I’d say.

I’m poking around at 1-2 levels in Warlock for Pact of the Blade and maybe Agonizing Blast / Repelling Blast on True Strike. Rest of the levels in Fighter.
Is this viable? If the fighter levels are Champion you get crit bonus but it doesn’t seem like it adds up to much. EK wording at 7 doesn’t actually seems like it would pair with Warlock true strike.
Dual hand crossbows would seem cool but only one would get to use charisma for hits and damage. Heavy crossbow with piercer feat might be strong but that uses two feats (I’d need xbow expert) so Charisma progression is slowed.
What would you all recommend here? What would be the strongest way to build this?
What does everyone think of the new third party subclass they release today? Whole book is a fun sort of Bloodborne vibe.
This subclass seems to really lean into wanting you to go Wisdom / True Strike and focus on spending divine points to get reaction attacks to get a second Sneak Attack per round.
I also like the AOE sneak attack mechanic quite a bit.
I’m getting Suggestion next level on my Arcane Trickster.
I am wondering how to use it to scam NPCs but get away with it. I don’t want a bunch of bounty hunters after us but my character‘s motivations are all about being a shady dude.
What tactics do you all use for games where you want the party to be resource constrained and not just roll into each encounter at full plower but you also want to avoid the game only consisting of combat encounters?
I’m running a game where the party wants to be challenged in this way but I’m having trouble making there be so many encounters per day because sometimes they are just in a town doing social things.
Title. This is a debate we are having at my table and I’m curious about this group’s take.
Things around unarmed attacks and grapple are a bit different now.
Is Tasha’s Path of the Beast still best or is there another way to build Wolverine like Monk + a Species?
Without spoiling the campaign, what’s a good way to think about damage types? Is a PC built around poison or necrotic going to be worthless? is doing radiant damage basically mandatory?
Title. I’m leaning towards Fiend Warlock 2 / EK Fighter X.
Idea is to take Gunner feat and Pact of the Blade so Charisma is my main attribute. Agonizing blast and Repelling blast on True Strike so occasionally I have a really powerful shot that takes advantage of EK swapping a cantrip for an attack.
wdyt? Is there a better way to do this build?
My campaign has a new character who is a Dhampir Psi Warrior Fighter with the Speedy feat. meaning he can psi leap up to 90 feat and then just hang from the ceiling.
The problem is that every time they go into a new room he asks how high the ceilings are and I want to give realistic answers.
What should I say? Also is there anyway for him to be knocked off the ceiling?
Title. I’m open to multi-class but would prefer most levels are rogue. Excited to see how the new Phantom plays.
Split between melee Booming blade and range True Strike builds.
Not sure the best way to set myself up for occasional reaction based off turn sneak attacks.
What weapon would be strongest on a pure Eldrich Knight build?
I’m looking for absolute most damage. Assume it’s paired with any available spelled (e.g booming blade or true strike) or it could be a spell itself like Shadow Blade.
Could also be paired with a specific race if that somehow makes a certain weapon stronger.
Including items of Very Rare and below, what’s the highest net spell save possible?
To me it sort of seems like it would be Eloquence Bard with the ability to reduce the enemy’s save and having access to two different class specific items that offer an increase.
I’m worried this build might be one note in combat like rogue. Those who have played a straight Champion Fighter build, how was it?
With the 2024 crafting rules making it easier to get any magical item, I’m curious if DMs generally allow or ban vicious weapons at their tables.
Looking at the new Ravenloft book I like the idea doing a throwing dart build with Hex.
Fighter seems best but I can’t decide between Champion and Eldritch Knight.
General idea is to get lots of attacks with Vex mastery and proc Hex as well.
Wails is now DEX times per day and you can only have two tokens on you at once. Why do the designers hate Rogue so much?
edit: I’ll concede it’s slightly better at lower levels. My reaction is mostly just disappointed we got another very meh Rogue subclass.
