Volkswagen Spinoff?
Starting to see some financial blogs chewing at a possible spinoff from Volkswagen. Know that Volkswagen is still hurting for money due to EV flop, dieselgate and the big cash payout for spinning off Everllence for $8.4B.
With Ducati seeming to be doing better than ever in public eye and in sales, curious what will happen if Volkswagen does spinoff Ducati and who would acquire them.
I feel Volkswagen did a major boost to Ducati (not getting into design appeal or opinions about L-Twin to V4) but as a business, reliability of products, funding for everything. Ducati is up there and I do wonder who would want to pick up Ducati. I don't see another manufacturer picking them up but do wonder if Ducati would try to go solo or try and get a large volume of corporate buy-in.
If Ducati does spinoff, being that majority of components are VW sourced, wonder what would happen to pricing if it'd increase at a larger rate than it is now or would it go back to the days before Volkswagen with component sourcing to save cost.
Just speaking openly as some or many of us know the Ducati before Volkswagen.
TIL - Indiana's only foreign bonds are with Israel
Today I learned: "As of April 2026, Indiana has invested $120 million in Israel bonds as part of an approximately $16 billion general fund portfolio." - WBIW
Genuinely had no clue we had bonds with foreign countries, upon further searching, Israel is the only foreign country Indiana has bonds with.
