B&R Announcement - No Changes

Timeless

No changes

With no archetype making up more than four percent of the metagame, Timeless is in great shape. The return of the Mystical Archive with Secrets of Strixhaven bolstered the Dimir Tempo deck with the addition of Daze, offering a powerful counterspell and draw engine when paired with Hydroponics Architect. This is exactly the type of shenanigans we like to see from our most powerful format on MTG Arena.

B&R Announcement - No Changes

>Timeless

>Secrets of Strixhaven's powerful Mystical Archive has arrived in Timeless, creating the largest metagame shift we have seen since Modern Horizons 3. Thanks to Force of Will and Daze, about 20% of decks are now some variant of Blue Tempo. Though popular, this emerging deck has not been solved as it competes with the refined Show and Tell, Mardu Energy, and Reanimator strategies. We expect the popularity of this deck to settle down as it finds its place among other competitive decks.

>Hydroponics Architect is a card we will keep an eye on due to its unique interaction with Daze, but so far it seems in line with all the other unfair things you can do in the format.

Not much of a surprise, and in line with my personal take on the format. If anything, I'd like more cards introduced rather than anything removed (specifically [[Aether Vial]]).

Watching LSV 4v4 Team draft his powered cube on YT, and he (quite reasonably imo) started with [[Cogwork Librarian]]. This got me thinking. He has also mentioned that there are times when you open multiple pieces of power in a team draft that it may be correct to pick what might be considered the third best card knowing that power will still be taken by a team mate. Even setting that oddity aside, knowing that the person that you are passing to has Cogwork potentially affects what you pass (say you open a pack with both halves of a two card combo).

Since you reveal Cogwork upon selection, is it Genius or Grifter to intentionally wait to make your selection until after the person passing to you has made theirs?
