How tf do I read this polyhedron?

So I got this very nice cat themed liquid core dice set for DnD, but the D4 is actually pissing me off.

Some of the sources I found say that if it lands on a short face you read the number that landed down, some say to read the upright face regardless of what side face it lands on, no one has answers for why my numbers are apparently upside down, and my last brain cells are on fire and can’t figure it out

Help :(

Context is very heavily needed with this one, but overall pretty explanatory.

I’m VP of my school’s board games club and (unfortunately) did not get elected for next year. As we’re wrapping up everything and getting ready to train the next set of leadership, the president sends me his training slides. Long story short, it’s not nearly detailed enough and, if I were the club’s new leaders, would be beyond confused. I don’t have high hopes of the club surviving next year, so I want to make a new club that effectively does the same thing, but more.

The current name of the club is simply “Board Games Club” (yes that is the name of the club, I signed the paperwork at the beginning of the year), so I don’t want the two to get confused. I’m planning on hosting a wide range of games, including but not limited to:

Pokemon TCG, Magic The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, card games (with a normal deck of cards, players choice), monopoly, Jenga, Sorry!, D&D, and other table top RPG and board games.

I want to reinvent a community that I grew up into and helped me fit into school that I fear will be destroyed due to poor leadership and an ignorant president. Any and all ideas are appreciated!
