In a scale of 1 to 10 how hungry are you for new Leprous music?
Since Vox Occulta came out I was like 4-5, but now I'm like 8 and reaching 9 soon (need help)
Melodies of Atonement turns 2 years today
This album was controversial at its launch and in part it was due to unrealistic expectations. People either love it or hate it. So, how are we feeling about it today?
Also, which are your favourite and least favourite song of the album? My favourite is Self-Satisfied Lullaby, while my least favourite is Silently Walking Alone
I was bored and thought this might be fun
I saw a chart like this on r/Topster and wanted to do my version on the Leprous albums. I have my criteria for the positions of the albums (although I didn't think too much about each), but I want to see first what you think and what you would change and why
slq - crown shyness (FFO Dream Theater, Haken, Rendezvous Point, Porcupine Tree, Karnivool, The Mars Volta, Rishloo)
Literally seen NO ONE talking about this project. It's the only thing I've been listening today
One guy named César Parra Rojas woke up one day and decided to make an album, and then he recruited Diego Tejeida (ex-Haken keyboardist), Baard Kolstad (Leprous and Rendezvous Point drummer) and Nate Navarro (session and touring bassist who played and plays for Devin Townsend, Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree and more) and created a really tasteful album, that doesn't hide its influences and instead delves into them to create something new and fresh. Only caveat is that the vocals are not as good as the bands mentioned in the FFO, but everything around is SO GOOD that I forget it pretty fast. The instrumental sections are definitely something to be reckoned
Give it a few spins guys!

Album is on pretty much all regular platforms for what I could see. Here's the youtube page and the bandcamp
I wonder, what do Leprous fans (or even band members) listen to besides Leprous?
I mean specific artists and genres. I wanna see how different our tastes are
I'll start:
- From the metal space I love Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, Haken, Ne Obliviscaris, Meshuggah, Igorrr, Vianova, Rendezvous Point, Sleep Token and more recently Asava and Mirar
- Other bands outside of metal I came to love recently are Ok Goodnight and Muse with their latest albums and just this week I heard Grace by Jeff Buckley and I was enamored. And of course I love Queen
- I love some hip-hop from time to time: NF, Twenty One Pilots and Ren are my go-to
- I listen to some latin and spanish rock (because I am latin) like Cuarteto de Nos, Vetusta Morla or No Te Va Gustar, and from time to time other artist like Cristian Castro, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Calle 13, Nach, etc.
- I really like some pop, like Bellie Eilish, Tame Impala, Lana Del Rey, Stromae, Michael Jackson, Yungblud and even some Bruno Mars
- Some other artists I used to love are Ice Nine Kills, Skillet, Falling In Reverse and Bullet For My Valentine, which was my introduction to metal
Baard Kolstad Hears "Down With The Sickness" For The First Time
youtu.beAbout Yukimura's next work (don't read if you haven't finished the manga)
(This scan is from Project Vinland, for anyone interested)
At the end of each volume, Yukimura writes a brief text to talk about anything he wants, usually related to Vinland Saga in some way, which I love because he have so much wisdom in his words. I was extremely pleased reading the last one. "We are orphans of the universe, born on this planet without parents. No one is here to guide us. Will humanity ever grow up?" 🔥✍️
Anyways, the interesting part is at the end. Yukimura talks about his plans for his next work: a story about a grown up humanity. Knowing Yukimura, what kind of story do you think it'll be? In what ways will Yukimura portray it? What kind of characters will it have?
Excited to read your thoughts!
Give me the weirdest/boldest song(s) you've heard, but you also have to like it!
I love weird music and I like almost every genre of music, so don't worry about what you recommend. You only have to think if it's weird and good enough
