Name for rare skin condition that causes patches of black skin?

I read an article about some children (almost certainly in the UK) with this condition and their parents a few weeks ago and I'm currently trying to hunt down the name of the condition.

From what I remember:

- It's benign or almost entirely benign; there might be a bit of itchiness on the patches but nothing worse than that.

- The skin genuinely turns/is black in patches. Not #000000 black, but still definitely black and not just slightly darker.

- I can't remember if the patches are already there at birth, or if they develop later, or if they get darker/expand over time, but I remember the article said it's not caused by infection or disease.

- Probably both of the children were white, but I don't know t's only white people that can have it.

- The parents created an online charity/advocacy group/awareness website with more information about the condition.

EDIT: Large/giant congenital melanocytic naevus.

[TOMT] A skin condition that causes patches of skin to turn black.

I read an article about this a few weeks ago back, about some parents to children with this condition in the UK and a charity they started to help support children/people who had it. It was benign, other than perhaps causing itchiness, and caused patches of (white) skin to turn completely or almost completely black - sort of like a reverse vitiligo.
