A Power Armor Trapped in a World of Magic — Now on Kindle Unlimited

A Power Armor Trapped in a World of Magic — Now on Kindle Unlimited

I’m the author of the dark fantasy/progression fantasy series Messiah of Steel. I’ve always loved the contrast between overwhelming technology and brutal fantasy worlds, so I ended up writing a story about a scientist trapped in a world of magic who keeps upgrading a heavily armed power armor instead of becoming a traditional mage.

The series follows Derek Steele, a scientist stranded in a brutal world ruled by monsters, ancient ruins, religious fanaticism, and prophecy. Instead of learning magic like everyone else, he starts adapting the same mysterious energy source that powers the world itself to upgrade his armor and weapons.

As the story progresses, he slowly realizes the world’s “magic” may actually be connected to something far older and far more technological than people believe.

The series leans heavily into:
• power armor / magitek progression
• dark fantasy atmosphere
• tactical combat and survival
• ancient lost technology
• science vs faith themes
• monsters, undead horrors, and forbidden cities

Book 2 just released on Kindle Unlimited, and the series is continuing to expand fast.

Hi everyone,

A couple of months ago I shared my LitRPG series Messiah of Steel here when Book 1 launched on Kindle Unlimited.

Since then the story has grown a lot, and today Book 2: Descent into Ebonshade officially released.

The series follows Derek Steele, a scientist trapped in a world ruled by magic, monsters, and religious prophecy. Instead of becoming a traditional mage, he keeps upgrading his power armor using the same mysterious energy source that fuels the world’s magic system.

The deeper he goes, the more he realizes the world’s “magic” may not be what people believe it is.

Book 2 dives much further into the darker side of the setting:
ancient ruins, corrupted creatures, undead horrors, forbidden technology, and a city called Ebonshade that probably should have stayed buried.

If you enjoy:
• progression fantasy with heavy magitek elements
• power armor/mecha combat
• dark fantasy atmosphere
• science vs faith themes
• a pragmatic protagonist trying to survive in a world obsessed with prophecy

then the series might be your kind of thing.

Book 1 is available on Kindle Unlimited here:

Thanks again to this community. A lot of the stories that inspired Messiah of Steel came from this subreddit.
