Mexican Fire Opal Neon Flame: Personal Opinions

So, I have been on the fence on this one for quite a while. I know taste in opals is very subjective from person to person but I still wanted to see what folks here rate it personally. It's got all the aspects of opals I love, neon bright shades of electric color with a nice "crystal/clear" naturally colored orange base color. I've been wanting to get at least one mexican fire opal for my collection as is.

IDK, normally the price for Mexican fire opals for the level of fire you get is just a bit lacking IMO. I could get an similar ethiopian opal or boulder opal with similar fire for a quarter of the price. (The only downer for ethiopian opals is them being hydrophane.) They want like round 900 for it, what are you all's opinion on this particular shiney an it's perceived worth?

I have been waiting to get a few custom stones that involve the cutting of multiple different stones. I don't know why but I find fantasy cuts like this amazing but they are few and far in-between. I'm hoping to find a lapidarist that I could commition from. I have a dream stone of a drop/pear cab of a glittery iolite sunstone with a moonstone in the center bottom of it. And a moonstone Sunstone ying yang kind of cut. Someday.

But what are your guys thoughts about these cuts? I have had folks say it makes them look fake and a waste of a good gemstone. Or are ya the others like me who see the magic on them?

My window shopping finds of the day. It's fire is more pronounced in this one in comparison to the last one I posted. I just wanted to share it's beauty while I dream about being able to afford it. 🥲

It's 25.13CT Master Faceted Dark Crystal Purple Base Ethiopian. Naturally dark base crystal ethiopian opals exist, not treated/smoked. They do exist in ethiopian opals, they are just freaking unicorn rare. But yeah, I just wanted to share the shiney!
