Has anyone had any success in automatically syncing between Wahoo ELEMNT app and the Coros app, when an activity is recorded on a Wahoo Roam v2?

I've been playing with the Coros app in anticipation of picking up an Apex 4 (this will be my first sports watch). I set up 3rd party syncing (in the Coros app) between Wahoo and Coros, however my activity recorded on my Roam v2 will not sync across.

As a workaround, I found that I could download the .fit file from the ELEMNT app, then upload to Coros via the website portal. The activity can then be found in the Coros app but it looks like it doesn't track against any other metric (recovery, training load etc). It just sits as a record of an activity (this may or may not be because I don't have a watch yet).

Am I missing something? I would love to get this set up as it's one of my main reasons for wanting to pick up a Coros watch (as opposed to a Suunto..).
