Thrissur private buses feel faster than ever — but do you think commuting has actually become safer or more stressful over the years?

A lot of people say private buses in Thrissur are becoming more aggressive on the roads, especially during peak hours and on busy routes. At the same time, buses are one of the fastest and most relied-on ways for students and workers to travel daily.

Do you think the overall commuting experience has improved or become more stressful compared to a few years ago?

Would love to hear experiences from regular passengers, students, drivers, and anyone commuting through Thrissur daily.

Why does commuting in Kochi still feel so unpredictable?

Kochi has metro, water metro, private buses, autos, cabs — probably the most advanced public transport ecosystem in Kerala.

But somehow, daily commuting still feels stressful for a lot of people.

Some common issues I notice regularly:

  • Bus timings are unpredictable
  • Peak-hour traffic everywhere
  • Last-mile connectivity problems
  • Waiting without any live updates
  • Different transport systems don’t feel connected
  • Rain completely changes travel time 😭

At the same time, more students and employees are depending on public transport every year.

Do you think Kochi’s commuting system is improving, or are we just adapting to the chaos?
What do you think Kochi is still missing when it comes to public transport?
