Finished Keyblade for my wife😊

I finished making this right before I left for a weekend trip! My wife liked it, she almost threw up because it still smelled like paint but she liked it😬

It was pretty straight fowards how I made it. I just eyeballed the general shape (made a cardboard ruler and my box opener) and made 2 copies of the handle and 3 copies of the head (i would've made 3 handles in hindsight). I glued chopsticks to reinforce the inside of both main pieces. How I did it was I hollowed out one of the head pieces and filled it with chop sticks and hot glue, I also put about 15 pennies to make it head heavy. I did the same with the handle but I just cut strips of cardboard to outline the chopsticks. Then once both main parts were made I then started on the main stick part. I got a wrapping paper tube and made a spine to reinforce it with a long X shape of cardboard running the full length of the tube. I then inserted the handle into the tube with wood glue. After that I attached the head by cutting a rectangle into the tube exactly the shape of the head. Glued all that together then I realized the connection for the handle and tube was only supported by 2 chopsticks and some cardboard so I cut 4 metal coat hangers and glued the metal wire on each corner of the handle. After that I realized the keyblade handle has 2 bits that are like round tube like things, this stumped me on how id fit 2 tubes of cardboard neatly onto the handle. I just winged it and made 2 tubes of cardboard (one slightly bigger than the other) and cut them in half and just started chopping until it fit. It looked poopy so I came up with a solution, put painters tape over the gaps and soak it with wood glue to harden and secure it. I realized all the edges of the head and handle had exposed ridges from the cardboard and it would look horrible when I paint it so I had an idea; what if I cut strips of cardboard exactly as thick as the handle and head, then just line every edge and glue it on and cut it to fit perfectly. Thats exactly what I did and it somehow turned out great lmao so I lined every edge with cardboard, taped over it, then glued over all the tape and cardboard... literally all of it except for the tube part because I would've ran out of glue lol. The glue gave the handle and head a nice slick finish that made it look like legit metal after I painted it. Right before painting I realized an issue, the handle looked terrible with exposed, unever cardboard and exposed wire. I have scrap rags from work so I cut a long 1/2 inch strip of cloth and wrapped the handle tennis racket style and covered all the cloth with glue to harden/lock it in. After that I was ready to paint!!! Easiest part lol I just used killz primer on the whole thing (I have a ton of it from work and its good paint from what I know) then I masked the handle and used silver/chrome on the whole tube/blade. Then I masked the blade and sprayed the grip wrap black, then masked the grip and painted the handle/hand guard gold. This morning I did the final clear gloss finish!!!!! When I get back ima make the tape on the handguard look less wrinkly probably with more glue and a repaint but I think it came out alright. Oh and I forgot I have to add the mickey mouse chain thing too

Next project my daughter said she wants me to make her a rainbow. What does that mean? Idk lmao she just says she wants a rainbow... I think ima try to make something that I can hang over her bed or something ill take any ideas lmao, shes 5 and one of her special interests currently is rainbows and Mario lmao
