Movies that helped you reconnect with watching films after an emotional burnout?

I used to watch a lot of movies with someone I was very close to. Watching films, sharing recommendations, and discussing them afterward was a huge part of our friendship.

After we drifted apart about a year ago, I slowly stopped enjoying movies altogether because almost every film reminded me of that time. I went from watching around 20 movies a month to barely finishing even one movie this past year.

I’m trying to reconnect with movies again, but I’m looking for films that feel emotionally “safe” and easy to get absorbed into without triggering nostalgia too much.

Not really looking for romance-heavy films. Maybe uplifting, comforting, funny, adventurous, visually immersive, or just genuinely engaging movies that helped you during a rough phase in life.

Open to any genre except heavy romance

Beginner to fishing in Dublin– is this Decathlon rod good?

Hi guys,

I’m new to fishing and want to start this year in Dublin ( Bray Area). I was thinking of buying this rod from Decathlon (50 Euro) and wanted to know if it’s a good beginner setup or if there are better options around the same price.

Also, what are the main things a beginner should know for fishing in Ireland? I checked online and saw some places need licences/permits, so I’m a bit confused about the rules.

Any beginner tips would help. Thanks 🙂
