Venting

Hey everyone. I posted here 3 times and I want to say thank you for all the advice and positive feedback. I'm taking everyones advice and doing all I can to get myself ready for Monday. So getting that out the way.

I'm exhausted. More like mentally exhausted. I didn't think I would have to jump so much hoops just to get here. I understand, it's a University. I'm getting a higher education and I should know what I'm getting myself into, but I'm 33. It's more difficult to get things I need as it seems. I had issues since May to get my immunization records because I moved from Kerman to Fresno in 2019 and my doctors lost my records. Even getting it on the Immunization records on the site is annoying. I have a deferment on Dog Days and don't need to pay until next month. But it was kind it frustrated to get one. And how my Financial Aid issue is making me second guess my decisions to go here during the Spring.

What I want to say is this school us draining my wallet and mental health. I have ADHD, anxiety and depression. I'm remaining calm and being positive. But man, it's tough. I really don't have much friends to talk to about my struggles and my family is understanding my situation. But it's hard to stay tough. Especially being a transfer student. I just want to be ok and enjoy this school. But right now, I can't. Thanks for reading my rant. Stay Hydrated!

Having a panic attack

So, today I went back to see if my Financial Aid was disbursement and it says I have to pay $704. I still need to pay for Dog Days (I had Financial issues back in May and wasn't able to pay for it.) So what does this mean? Am I not going to get a refund? Should I quit? Where do I even find if I'm getting a refund or not? I am taking 13 units and a transfer student? I really don't know what to do and rather or not I'm gonna get a refund!! 😭😭😭

Explain to me like I'm 5: Financial Aid

Hey guys, Drea again. If you're like me and don't have a clue about Financial Aid, then we are on the same boat. I want you guys to explain to me like 5 about Fresno States Fiancial Aid. Like when do we receive our grants?, Why are we getting a "temporary deferment" when it doesn't cover our tuition fees, and how am I supposed to pay my tuition when I have bills at home to worry about. I just need to be explain how Financial Aid works and what am I expecting. Thanks! Go Dogs!

Transfer Student blues

Hi everyone! My name is Drea and my major is Child and Family Science. I'm a transfer student at Fresno City College and I'm coming here in the fall semester. As much as I'm excited to continue on my journey of college at 33. I'm a first generation of my family to get this far. I'm scared, not gonna lie. I don't know what I'm doing or where I'm going. I'm so use to Fresno City. Coming at State during Dog Days and Preview Day. I feel like a small fish in a big pound...well more like an aquarium. So, what I'm trying to say is I'm scared. I'm scared of failing, I'm scared I won't make friends, I'm scared my ADHD is going to effect my classwork, and mostly I'm scared I'm not gonna make it far and get my bachelor's degree. Maybe its my anxiety or I'm over thinking but yeah. I don't know where to start.

Who hasn't received there degree in the mail?

Hey everyone! I graduated at Fresno City in May and going to transfer to Fresno State in the fall wooo! So, for the past 2 months I have been waiting for my associates degree to arrive in the mail. Yes, I have made sure to my address is correct and it is. I have also called the Admission and Records office and no response because they are probably closed in the summer. Now it's the first of the month and I haven't recieved my degree in the mail. My degree is an Associates of Transfer. My major is Early Elementary Education. Has anybody received there degrees in the mail or do I have wait 2 more months to get it? Because it says it takes 60-90 days to receive it in the mail. Go Rams!

Cleaning Bug

Hi, so for years. I would have that itch to clean my entire room. Like organizing my clothes by color (which I wear only black and other scene attire clothes.), vacuum even the tiniest of corners, and organize my fiance's gaming table. But this only happens to me when I'm extremely nervous or I try to do a major project and pay the bills and my brain wants to de-clutter everything. I don't eat, sleep, and hold my bladder until I know I feel clean and relax to finish the main task. So, does anybody have this issue with your ADHD? If so what causes you to feel like how I feel?
