Custom Warband Part 2
Hello Brothers
I made a post yesterday about my Custom Warband. Things are still being worked out but you know what this is fun so I wanted to continue.
Also full disclosure the image is AI I'm not a skilled artist so I gave it my draft and refined it to its current look. The skeleton of what it was ran through AI to improve it because I really wanted something cool and unique I hope this doesn't rub anyone the wrong way. The original is also attached. I also have used it to upgrade my writing for my lore since I'm not the best writer either. But the core ideas and storyline are all mine, everything wrote here I wrote myself. I'm using the AI to basically just improve my own writing.
Name: Iron Pact
Allegiance: Chaos
Warsmith: Mournax the Woundsmith
Lore: Mournax is an ancient Iron Warrior from hailing from Terra. He was promoted to Warsmith as he was one of the Marines present when Vulkan was captured (He showed uncommon valor but was NOT in leadership at the time he was there and survived)
Due to his commander being killed he was promoted to Warsmith and soon launched his 1st siege on a Forge World capturing it. This world was his pride and joy as it fueled the war machine of the Iron warriors.
At the Siege of Terra Mournax lead a large group of iron warriors to the wall and when it was breached they came face to face with a small squad of custodians who began to slaughter the Iron Warriors. Mournax had his forces divide the small group up however one managed to reach him where the two fought. Obviously Mournax lost this fight and was mortally wounded, however using a melta bomb and overcharging his Plasma Pistol he managed to barely kill the custodian.
He fully intended to die there but those under his command dragged what little of him remained back to their flagship and interred him in a Contemptor frame.
Perterabo did not order this and Mournax when he regained consciousness was furious, feeling he betrayed Perterabo. He butchered those who interred him and vowed to make himself useful to the Lord of Iron.
Soon after he received word that the Imperial Fists captured the forge world from Mournax fueling his rage.
Centuries pass and Mournax is ordered to capture a seemingly random forge world again from the imperium. He does so and this becomes his "Main Base" though with his body now failing in this shell Mournax grows desperate as he still believes he needs to atone.
The warband has allies in the Dark Mechanicus and in Vashtorr the Arkifane, deals are struck and they aid the warband (though they do not trust each other)
The planet that is captured (Nhylax) is then discovered to be a Necron Tomb world where Mournax dedicates his forces to containing the threat which he does so, though by the end of the war his frame is barley functional.
What happens next is obscured. But Mournax finds something inside one of the necron tombs... Something ancient and horrifying. He calls his Dark Mechanicus allies along with Vashtorr himself to help bring this "Thing" back to a functional state.
When he left Mournax was reinvigorated his shell working just as intended, but no life signs are detected in his frame, and the engines that once sustained his life have fallen silent.
Now he leads his Warband with clinical and cold mathematical efficiency. Commanding a couple different forge worlds in the system of space the warband operate in.
Ideology: The Iron Pact are very focused on building and maintaining wargear. They command impressive forges capible of producing more wargear and even deamon engines at a faster rate than most.
They trade resources with other Warbands in order to gain influence and power, though the Iron Warriors always come first.
For example the World Eaters may be hired if their expertise (or raw muscle) is needed and after the war they are given the agreed upon resources.
For this reason they are usually not fighting other chaos forces, it does happen but they're often viewed as more valuable to have as an ally than an enemy.
Strategies: Similar to most Iron Warriors they specialize in Siege Warfare, though they do it a little differently. They will build their forces to a large army. Then encircle the enemy before waiting, draining their resources. Upon them being weakened they launch an attack with overwhelming force into a small handful of weakspots in the enemy defence before quickly moving in.
They do not kill warriors (human or astartes) if possible (even imperial fists) I stead they capture them and drag them back to their forges. Where they are repurposed for the Warband.
Captured Loyalists have a particularly bad fate, you see the Iron Pact view using themselves for Deamon engines as wasteful of their gene seed. So they use the captured Loyalists. If they die they die and if they live they're forced to fight the imperium they once defended.
So that's more or less what I have so far
