Today my dad said something that really stuck with me. It was along the lines of “If you truly love someone, you’ll allow them the freedom to love you if they choose, no matter where they are. If you don’t give them that freedom then you don’t actually love them. They’re just a possession to be fought over at that point.” I love this. I chose to love him from 600 miles away. Him and only him. And yet my loyalty was still constantly questioned. I chose him. And everything still went up in flames. For what?
