Recently, CM Vijay announced that cars would be provided to all MLAs. During an earlier Assembly session, L.E. Jothimani requested a car claiming that he doesn’t have a personal vehicle for travelling. However, his election affidavit states that he owns a Toyota Etios.
We know that every politician hides the actual value of their assets in their affidavits, but in this case he himself declared that he owns a Toyota Etios. So how can he now claim that he doesn’t have a car?
Also, is spending ₹1 lakh on a vehicle really necessary when MLAs are already receiving travel and other allowances?

On 12/08/2026 (Wednesday), the LoP and other parties asked for permission to talk about the law and order issue. The Speaker said we can discuss this on 17/08/2026 (Monday) after getting some information from the Police Department.
But TVK played it smart. They know Vijay should be answerable on this issue and that they will ask valid questions about the issues happening right now under his government. This is especially because, during his election rally he made a drama about the law and order issue.

Note: SFI did a protest against the paper leak on June 20, but the police detained and attacked them. In the initial stage the TN government suppressed it.
This victory does not belong to TN State because the TN government did not support the protesters by giving permission for the protests because protest happened only in Balan Illam.

TVK official spokesperson Felix claimed that the party will fulfill all its manifesto promises by next year. He said the plans would require ₹1 lakh crore per year and argued that the same amount is currently lost through leakages from previous governments.
