Anyone Hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro

I'll be hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro with a group of Black women this summer. Has anyone ever done this or a similar summit? What tips do you have? What did you regret not taking or doing?

Developing A Racial Lens

I’m reading Kenneth Hardy’s Racial Trauma: Clinical Strategies and Techniques for Healing Invisible Wounds. If you’d like to do a book club and read/discuss together, let’s chat! I’m curious how we all are developing a racial lens. Part of being able to support clients of color relies on our ability to see wounds that are invisible without a racial lens. How are you developing a racial lens? A cis white male in his 60s at my agency just started seeing a coach, who’s also a trained psychotherapist, with the specific purpose of showing up as a powerful ally for his clients, coworkers, and community members. It’s like supervision or consultation and he takes everyday personal and work racial encounters into the session. He said it’s been wow!

I’m reading this book. I’m initiating courageous conversations, even if clunky.

What are you doing?

Has anyone tried Build Legends or My Secret Playbook? It looks like a scam, but maybe I’m wrong. I’d like to keep developing confidence and resilience in my 6 yo. She loves reading and listening to stories. I’m going to start daily affirmations.
