My TC Journey (Stage IIC Pure Seminoma)
Hi guys, I have been lurking on this subreddit for the past 5 months or so. I was diagnosed with TC, had an orchiectomy and did 4x EP chemotherapy this year. Last week the doctor said I am in remission.
I am sure some of you guys might be here on this subreddit who are scared and unsure what to expect, I know I was at the beginning of it. I decided to journal through this whole process and wanted to share what my experience was like. Hoping this helps give others who are at the beginning of this journey to have a better idea of what to expect, and hopefully calm some nerves.
Now I will say I did use this as a journal, there may be some poor punctuation, unfiltered thoughts and just my pure feelings, but I did mix it in with data from blood tests, scans etc. Just wanted to give a warning because I sure do like to say the F word a lot haha.

I don't think I mentioned in the journal but I am 31 years old (30 when diag'd but turned 31 during chemo)
Happy to answer any questions you guys have!
Buying Car Out of State. Title With Online Lender (Ally)
Hi trying to get a good idea of the best method to approach this car purchase.
I found a car I have been looking for for quite awhile. Found one in California, I am located in Utah and have no problem traveling for this car. Car checks out, PPI looks good etc.
My plan is to fly in, pay the seller, and drive the car back same day.
The seller has a loan on the car (well below the asking price of the car) but it's with Ally, which does not have any local branches.
Ally has a couple payoff methods listed online. One being via mail, the other being online. One of the online methods looks like you can just enter a debit card number in. It doesn't specifically say the debit card entry method can be used for total payoff but I don't see why we couldn't do that. https://www.ally.com/help/auto/auto-payoff/
My question becomes what is the best method to do this, ensuring that I get the title mailed to me and I don't just hand money over and never get a title.
Some options include:
A. Cashiers check to the seller. We go to his bank together in person and deposit it. We then sit together and pay off the loan together on Ally and I verify that its paid off. The issue I see with this is the funds may not be available immediately (as its a large amount) and I do not intend on staying for a few days just to wait for the funds to be available
B. My lender puts the loan pay off amount in my checking account. Then I can go online and pay off the vehicle via the portal on the website. Not sure my lender will deposit the funds into my checking though.
C. Two checks, one for the sellers payoff amount, the other being the difference. I give seller the difference, then we both go together to USPS, FedEx etc. and mail the payoff check to Ally's payoff department.
With A it opens the chance for risk of seller not paying off the loan and running away with the cash. I don't foresee this being an issue but also practicing due diligence and don't want to do anything risky. I can draft a contract that we both sign saying he will pay off the loan amount and transfer the title in my name. Seller mentioned he is comfortable signing a contract if so.
B gives me the control to pay off the auto loan. Just not sure if my lender will give me the money in my account or if they will only do checks. I have a feeling they will only do checks but need to confirm.
C kinda shifts the control out of either of our hands and we put it on the check being mailed and received accordingly. It is the slower process for both parties, seller having to wait to see the funds hit his loan, me waiting longer for payoff and title taking longer to mail out. Also opens paranoia for both of us hoping the check doesn't get lost in transit. If we did this method I would opt for the best and fastest shipping possible.
So that's what I see as options for fund transfer. I also wonder if anyone knows what the title transfer process on the Ally side looks like? There customer support hotline kinda sucks, but maybe I just got the new person that wasn't really sure what to do.
With all that said, I'd imagine any payment method we will need a California Bill of Sale (Reg 135) and maybe a vehicle title transfer document (Reg 262)?
So yeah that's the entire situation, looking for the best option for payment method in this scenario. The goal is to make sure I can buy this car and register it with no issues on my end. If there is anything else I am missing here please let me know. Thank you
