Album suggestion: Terno Rei's "Gêmeos"
Alternative and Brazilian: Terno Rei's "Gêmeos" is a lush, 12-track journey that will make you relax, get goosebumps, or cry, sometimes all in the same song :v
It was written and recorded over a year and a half, much of it during immersive writing retreats at a farmhouse in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the album leans into 90s and early-2000s nostalgia, layering synths, jangly guitars, and steady drums into a sound that's both dreamier and more polished than the band's earlier lo-fi work. It feels warmer and more "solar" than its predecessor.
The mix and mastering is very good. I'm listening to it with my Hifiman HE400se and it's very detailed, without a tons of compression, so you can appreciate those beautiful transients. If you do not want to listen the album, try "Só eu sei" or "Dias da Juventude" first, and then decide if you want to listen to it completely or not.
