Dyac3 Information

It looks like the first new 1000Hz panel was essentially announced today (not the IPS panel from LG).

This seems like it’ll be very similar to Zowie’s flagship approach. The big difference is the new BFI/DyAc/ULMB implementation (basically DyAc 3), which appears to retain the motion clarity benefits of DyAc 2 while adding eye-care improvements.

If you follow the Asian market, especially discussions around Zowie monitors, there’s been a growing backlash toward their aggressive strobing tech due to concerns about long-term eye strain. Newer companies like antgamer actually have settings within the safety thresholds of what is safe for the human eye. Their DIC tech is just like dyac but safer and 0 input lag difference. A lot of videos and forum discussions warn about it, to the point where some players actively avoid DyAc monitors. It’s also part of why Zowie has been losing ground to Antgamer in key markets like China. Luckily for Zowie health in European and Western markets is highly neglected.

Overall, this feels like a positive step in the right direction. A lot of people (myself included) end up needing eye drops nearby — and sometimes even an aspirin after long sessions on the 600Hz DyAc 2 monitor. Funny enough, I picked up that tip from a Chinese forum, and it genuinely helped make the monitor more enjoyable to use.

TN Panels are officially cooked

【【首发】TN屏末日?是什么让FPS职业哥都选择这台OLED?-哔哩哔哩】 https://b23.tv/mg4X9LM

Sony’s new M10S 2 is the nail in the coffin for TN panels. It not only has a mode that closely mimics TN characteristics, but also an enhanced version that appears to add edge contrast around character models specifically for CS—borderline unfair in situations. In the video, players seem to stand out more through smoke, almost separating from the background.

Sony has also addressed many of the traditional OLED concerns like black crush and burn-in, while pushing brightness beyond most TN panels. On top of that, it offers lower response times and input latency than virtually any existing panel.

The panel runs at 540/720Hz and even supports 1280×960 at 700Hz. According to Blur Busters, a 500Hz OLED can appear clearer in motion than a 1000Hz TN/IPS backlit display.

At this point, it’s hard to argue TN still has a real advantage for competitive FPS.

Glossy Screens from Zowie?

Zowie,

After side by siding the 2586x+, ASUS Ace 610, and ANTGAMER 750(the best one by far btw, even autodims flashes etc, actually insane tech in this).

I realize yours is the hardest to see enemies by a long shot.

You need to look into making glossy screens for the home user compared to the matte competition monitors. This will help visibility a ton. Enemies stick out like sore thumbs on the competitors monitors compared to this aggressive blurry mess of a matte coating.

Did Logitech Quietly Change the Superstrike?

I preordered the Superlight / Superstrike and have used it since day one. It completely replaced my entire mouse collection.

I recently bought a second Superstrike because I always run two copies of the same mouse — one with controlled skates and one with faster skates depending on the game or setup.

Unfortunately, the new copy feels noticeably worse on the left click.

If I disable the haptics and compare both mice side-by-side, the difference becomes very obvious. My original mouse feels solid and clean when bottoming out the click, while the new one has a strange vibrational or springy feedback. It almost feels like the entire shell or internal structure is flexing/rebounding slightly during the click.

With haptics enabled, the issue becomes even more noticeable.

You can actually hear the difference too — the original has a tight, solid click, while the newer one has a hollow/springy resonance. I posted a comparison video showing both sounds side-by-side.

  • My original “perfect” copy was made in China SN# Starting with 2604
  • The newer problematic copy was made in Vietnam - SN# Starting with 2612

Not sure if there was a manufacturing change, shell revision, internal tolerance difference, or click implementation change between factories, but the difference is immediately noticeable in hand.

The China unit feels incredibly premium and stable.
The Vietnam unit feels like something inside the click mechanism or shell is vibrating/rebounding.

After being spoiled by the first mouse it is entirely apparent to me in game. It feels awful.

Been grinding consistently since the launch of CS2, and this weekend I finally hit my breaking point. I made the call to sell off about $12k worth of skins.

I’m playing around 25k Premier, and I’ve honestly never seen it this bad. Lately every game has 1–3 cheaters. What’s wild is it’s not even always the top players and you barely notice it at first because they’re sitting at the bottom of the scoreboard. Then you spectate them and it all starts to make sense… especially how games suddenly flip and ends 11–13.

It used to be maybe one every five or six matches. Now it’s literally every match.

Sad to see it going in this direction.
