Probably a dumb question, but how do we explain the weapons in FE: Awakening?
Okay, folks, here's a question for ya. I've recently been playing through Awakening for the very first time. (For context, I am fairly well-versed in FE lore, but only this past year have I gotten back into playing the games all the way through. I have beaten Echoes, Blazing Blade, POR/RD, and am near the end of Awakening)
Generally, I am someone who likes to subscribe to the possibility that at least some of the mainline FE games, aside from Archanea/Valentia/Jugdral, are connected in some way. Obviously its hard to find confirmation of this, but it's a fun theory nonetheless.
Specifically, I am curious exactly how many fans can explain this away, especially in the reality of Awakening's inclusion of weapons explicitly named after characters from the GBA games (Hector, Orsin/Orson, Roy, etc.), as well as the character of Priam.
In all honesty, I am just curious to hear why (and how) people generally justify these as being inadaquete references to justify the possibility of inter-game connection. I mean, most of Owain's attacks are named after previous FE titles. I've heard many people dismiss these things without giving much evidence, so I'm curious why they think that.
In the same vein, are there any FE4/FE5 references in Awakening that I am missing? It feels like a cool opportunity to incorporate something like that, at least in a minor way.
