Private Clinic - Recurrent Miscarriages/Possible IVF in the future

Hello! I’ve just been informed my recurrent miscarriage clinic appt via the NHS has been cancelled and rescheduled due to illness. Does anyone have a recommendation for a clinic in or around London? I have had three losses and have been ttc for almost 2 years.

The appointment was supposed to be on Thursday and I was referred last October. I am frustrated to say the least. I started seeing a private fertility specialist in January who helped me to treat my ureaplasma and prescribed me progesterone for a luteal phase issue. I’m currently going through a very early loss while on the progesterone and baby aspirin. I got my GP to order some blood tests right before I found out I was pregnant and finally attended them this past week (in the middle of the loss). I had some abnormal results, elevated liver enzymes, elevated c protein, and an indication of a blood clotting issue. I was hoping to follow up the NHS clinic on these but also I don’t know when it’ll happen now. My GP is going to call me about them on Monday which will be helpful but I know not her speciality. I do know the blood tests could’ve been affected by pregnancy, but the GP had told me still attend.

I was already considering going to a full private clinic, but this has encouraged me to try even sooner. I have looked at possibly having a consultation with Dr Shehata, but was wondering if there are any other recs in the London area? I would also like to get a more detailed exploration of any possible blood clotting issues as this was a general clotting screening test.

Thank you xx

HCG Plateau after rising betas

Hi all - pretty sure I’m experience an early loss, but curious of others experiences. I had three really great rising betas, but then within 48 hours my beta essentially stayed the same at 360 (so very early days). I’m on a progesterone protocol from ovulation, which my doctor has upped as my progesterone started falling after the second beta (probably a sign).

But the doctor said to stay optimistic, which I feel is just him covering himself. I guess in case, any positive stories? I’m mostly hoping it goes down so I don’t have to worry about ectopic.

Also, as I’m on so much progesterone (suppositories and injections) is it possible I’d start to physically miscarry before stopping?

This will like be my 3rd loss in about a year, so just feeling a bit shit and looking for any guidance.

I’m looking for any success stories or similar experiences because I’m really struggling in limbo right now. I’ve pretty much accepted this is a loss, but my doctor is trying to stay optimistic I guess.

I started progesterone support after ovulation with 800mg Cyclogest daily. My betas/progesterone have been:

Beta 1:
HCG 17.5
Progesterone 77.3 nmol/L

Doctor increased Cyclogest to 1200mg.

Beta 2:
HCG 58.9
Progesterone 65.9

Doctor increased Cyclogest to 1600mg.

Beta 3:
HCG 361
Progesterone 55.1

At this point doctor added Lubion injections.

Beta 4 (48 hours later):
HCG 360
Progesterone 72.9

So my HCG initially rose very strongly and then completely plateaued on the latest draw. My doctor says this is concerning but told me not to lose hope yet and wants another beta on Monday while continuing/increasing progesterone support.

I’m aware this could be a non-viable pregnancy or ectopic, so I’m not looking for false reassurance. I’d just really appreciate hearing from anyone who had:

  • a plateaued beta that later recovered
  • lab error/odd beta patterns
  • successful pregnancies after a concerning beta
  • or honestly even similar outcomes

I’m currently around 4-5 weeks and the waiting is brutal.

Hi all - curious if anyone else’s fertility doctor prescribed Lubion in early pregnancy due progesterone levels? I’ve had two two losses in the past, one definitely with low progesterone. My HCG is rising well but my progesterone has gone down and I’m already on 4 cyclogest pessaries a day. This is a natural conception (besides cyclogest from after ovulation) and I feel like I’ve only read about it for ivf. my HCG is growing very well so I’m feeling good there and trying to stay positive. any tips or thoughts appreciated xx
