Manche sagen „Bitte nie Microsoft“, andere schwören auf Google, wieder andere wollen alles On‑Prem behalten.

Darum interessiert mich eure Sicht:

Datenschutz? Schlechte Erfahrungen? Gewohnheit? Oder einfach Misstrauen gegenüber grossen Anbietern?

How are small businesses handling old file servers today? Are M365 migrations becoming the norm?

I’m currently building a full Microsoft 365 environment (SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune, etc.) to simulate real‑world SMB scenarios.

While researching, I noticed that many small companies (10–80 employees) still rely on:
– old Windows file servers
– POP/IMAP email
– no MFA
– no cloud strategy
– outdated hardware
– minimal security or compliance considerations

I’m curious how others see this trend:
Are SMBs actively moving to Microsoft 365, or are many still stuck on‑prem?
What are the biggest challenges you’ve seen with:
– migrating file shares to SharePoint/OneDrive
– replacing old servers
– hybrid identity setups
– onboarding devices with Intune
– convincing management to modernize

I’m trying to understand how realistic it is to support SMBs with cloud migrations as a solo consultant — and whether the demand is actually as high as people claim.

Would love to hear your experiences, opinions, or lessons learned.

– alte Windows‑Fileserver nutzen
– POP/IMAP‑Mail haben
– kein MFA einsetzen
– keine Cloud‑Strategie haben
– revDSG‑Themen ignorieren

A tiny tool that helps kids track their homework independently

I found that evenings often turned into the same routine: asking whether homework was done and dealing with the stress that followed.
So I built a small, simple tool that helps kids keep track of their homework on their own — without reminders or pressure.

It’s called Schulzwerg, and it’s currently available in German.
The idea is to give kids a clear, visual overview of their tasks so they can manage them independently.

I’d love to hear what you think or how you would improve it.

I built a tiny tool to reduce homework stress at home (looking for feedback)

I built a small tool to solve a problem we kept having at home:
the daily “Did you do your homework” cycle.

It caused unnecessary stress, so I created a simple web app that helps kids track their homework on their own — no reminders, no repeating myself.

It’s called Schulzwerg.
Right now it’s in German, but I’m working on an English version as well.

Since this is r/SideProject, I’d love feedback from other builders:
What would you improve?
Does the concept make sense?
Anything unclear or missing?

I’m actively iterating and open to all suggestions.

A small tool that finally removes homework stress at home (German now, English coming soon)

I’ve been working on a little project called Schulzwerg — a simple tool that helps kids keep track of their homework so parents don’t have to remind them 20 times a day.
It’s designed to reduce stress, arguments, and the classic “Did you do your homework?” loop.

Right now the app is available in German, but the English version is already in development and will roll out soon.
If you’re a parent, teacher, or just curious about tools that make family life easier, I’d love your feedback.

Here’s a preview of the current interface (German version).
Happy to answer questions or hear suggestions!

Built a small macOS utility for Windows switchers — would you use this?

Hey everyone

I’ve been working on a tiny macOS utility that changes one specific behavior many Windows users miss:

👉 Clicking an app’s Dock icon will minimize its window, just like on Windows.

macOS doesn’t do this by default, so I built a lightweight tool that adds this behavior without hacks or weird workarounds.

I’m curious — is this something you’d actually install?
Especially if you recently switched from Windows to macOS or still struggle with the different window management.

If anyone wants to try the TestFlight build on macOS, I can send out invites. Just drop your email (any email works).

Thanks for the feedback!
