WIBTAH if I made my roommate pay for our living room blinds during our move-out?

My roommate (21F) and I (20F) live in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. We're currently moving out, and our living room blinds are broken. They broke when my roommate attempted to raise them by pulling on the string, but she pulled too hard and the rod on the top pretty much cracked cleanly in two. I wasn't at home when this happened, so this is her account of what happened. I know for a fact that management will ask us to pay for blind replacement once we've moved out - we have already discussed with them.

My roommate thinks we should split the cost evenly since it was accidental damage, plus the blinds were already "on the verge of collapse" when we moved in anyways so it was only a matter of time before they broke. I think she should be paying for the whole thing because I was in no way involved in the damage and it occurred because she misused the blinds. I was drawing them up without any issues for a good while before they broke on her, and I don't think they were "on the verge of collapse" as she puts it.

So WIBTAH if I stand my ground on this since I never caused the damage?

What is your advice to a 20 year old woman who is just starting a new job and moving to a new place?

I (20F) am moving to a new place to start a new job. It's kind of overwhelming with all the apartment essentials lists I see online, plus everyone around me is giving me different advice. I'm also on a budget, so I want to prioritize essentials. I've taken care of basic furniture and cookware, is there something that you felt is an essential that wasn't/isn't talked about much or is often overlooked?
