I’m going to share how life is like here at the border of Saudi Arabia. I’m from this area of Yemen (Saada) Specifically more left by the mountainous terrain. I’m from the area written there on the right called Bani Eyash. Life there is very peaceful I would say. And very fun. We’re all Bedouins and very tribal. We come from the tribe of Khawlan. We stay way far far from any major city in Yemen. We’re very “forgotten” from the world because our ancestors back in time lived deep in the mountains so as of today we keep that tradition alive by doing the same. We have a very different culture than the normal Yemeni culture. All though we still wear the dagger, we wear flower crowns on our head as what our ancestors used to wear to hide and camouflage within the mountains during tribal conflicts. We wear heavy cloths (ma’waz) around our waist down to keep ourselves warm, a buttoned up shirt to match it. We speak a different language / dialect than the regular Arabic language. If I was to talk to another Yemeni in my dialect he wouldn’t understand what I say lol. But as for work there we have Qat farms, pomegranate farms, coffee bean farms, shops, and Ethiopian workers who smuggle Qat into Saudi Arabia (our main source of income). Qat is a leaf that Yemenis chew on (it’s like cocaine) gets you energized. We have ridiculous amount of guns. Such so everytime we waste bullets shooting in the air at weddings. The Saudi border guards watch us from the distance doing so lol. We have a great agriculture. We have a specific dance which I like to call (mountain men dance) because it has a history to it. The dance has been performed many many years to symbolize the men who are tucked away deep in the mountains that have no contact with the outside world. And I’m proud to be from there. I was Yemen 2 years ago, going again next year. Got the traditional Bedouin clothes there and brought to California America where I live now and always wear them to Yemeni weddings to show off my culture! If you would like to learn more. On YouTube or google search khawlan tribes of Yemen border. Or to people who know Arabic. Simply type خولان بن عامر.

UPDATE: I went to the ER and got it treated. Doctors said i had cellulitis. I got bit by a spider when they cleaned the wound it looked like a spider bite. I’m on antibiotics for 10 days. Most people were asking to see the top of the infection, so here’s another picture. From last post —— It doesn’t hurt or anything but it’s very very itchy. There’s dried yellow pus on around it. What I’m thinking was because I was bleeding when I got it done and I didn’t wash off the blood on time not only that my friends kept trolling me hitting my tattoo. Need some answers, thanks
