Embarrassed to have guy over

So I (F20) have been seeing this guy (M21) for three months and he recently went back home for the summer. He asked to come over during the day to my house to see me (he’s driving 2 hours + taking a ferry), but the problem is I live with my parents in a loft (parents won’t be there at time of visit) and it is definitely on the smaller side and I just feel so embarrassed. It isn’t really dirty or anything but there’s a bunch of random storage boxes (30+) in a corner of the living room which is so embarrassing. I mentioned this to him and he didnt seem to care and I would really love to have him over but i just feel so embarrassed. I know he and his parents live in a house so i’m so scared that he’s secretly going to judge me. Do people usually not care so much?

i’m assuming not since tt seems pretty laid back, but i’ve heard other schools have more stigma and it’s harder to make friends as a transfer. is it significantly harder to meet people? i’m obviously planning on joining organizations and i’m a pre-nursing student but would it still take a lot of effort?

for reference, ive done one year at cc and plan on transferring next fall.
