Sorry if this has been exhausted on other threads, but I’m having a hard time determining what the legal potential of leaving treasure for others to find in national parks, state parks, national forests, designated wildernesses, wilderness study areas, BLM, etc are.

Specifically, have any public lands been ruled out due to whether it’s legal to abandon property or hide treasure on them based on the legality of it and who has the rightful claim to it once it’s found?

I assume Justin would have done the full gamut of research before he decided where to leave it so government agencies couldn’t claim right to it once it’s found. And wondering if we can eliminate certain public lands because of the laws that apply there.
