Advice for next steps after halo bassinet
My baby is currently 3 months old and she’s been using the halo swivel bassinet. I LOVE this bassinet and am very sad that she is growing out of it. I like the fact that I can be so close to her and at eye level and that I can lean into it and it almost feels like I’m laying in there with her. I feel like it is the closest thing to bedsharing while still technically being in a bassinet and I am worried transferring her to a crib I will miss out on those aspects.
I am too anxious to bedshare and can be a pretty sound sleeper and baby and me both tend to move around in our sleep. I don’t think I would be able to fall asleep with her directly in the same bed as me.
I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for next steps. Ultimately I am open to bedsharing in the future when I am sure she is big enough and I don’t ever have to worry about it but she is still so small.
I am interesting in possibly making a side car- if anyone has suggestions about how to do this let me know! We had bought the babyletto gelato mini crib which could possibly be converted but I’d be open to buying something else instead.
Another option would be to get a twin or full mattress with the wooden gate around it on the floor like one of the Montessori beds. Then I could put my mattress on the floor next to her and be very close and also would be able to lay in her bed with her until she falls asleep. I’m not sure if she is too young for that to be safe?
Any other ideas would be great as well!
