Using one ereader ONLY - Is anyone doing this? How's it going?

The earlier post from u/theculthero today had me thinking about this question.

I have had only one ereader for a week and some now. It's a solid one. However, I recently purchased another one that I'll get eventually (I got it secondhand). I briefly had the thought wondering how it is like to just have one ereader that you use and charge.

Anyway, is there anyone here who either has only one ereader or is choosing to use one ereader only out of their collection for a period of time? How are you holding up? Are you ever tempted with that "itch"?

Meebook e6 unboxing - A 6 inch ereader with buttons?!

Hi all, just learned about the Meebook E6. It has buttons. I feel like non phone shaped ereaders that have buttons with this screen size is uncommon (I can only think of the B&N Nooks and most Pocketbook Verse models).

Thoughts? (Not my video, just sharing it)

Go 6 Gen 2 TPU case enables “holding” for the stylus

I didn’t want to make the title too long but this is the official TPU case created by Boox for the Go 6 Gen 2.

The case is translucent and has a magnetic/magsafe ring in the middle. It’s a soft TPU. With the ring, you can kinda put the stylus in the middle of it but at an angle. And of course, you can put it on the back edges too.

I wanted to share a quick image in case anyone is curious. Feel free to ask anything.

The StoryGraph integration has me wanting to read everything on my Kobo

Can anyone else relate or is it just me?

I have a Boox ereader as well and let’s just say that I have only turned it on once since getting the Kobo this weekend.

Ever since one of y’all told me that it does this for library books, I have finished one book on my Kobo and I’m currently reading 2 books.

WTB Kobo Clara 2E

Hi all, I am interested in purchasing a Kobo Clara 2E. (I’ll consider purchasing a Clara BW if I can’t find one of these but willing to shoot my shot here first).

I’m in the United States so I’ll prefer that, but I’m also open to any Canadians that might be willing to sell to me.

My only thing is that I’ll like to purchase one in good condition, which includes the battery. Please let me know if you have one to sell.

BOOX Go 6 Gen 2: The Answers, Tests & Tips You Were Waiting For

This is not my review, but this video was suggested to me so I watched. He shows the speed, copy and pasting from one app to another and even addresses if you can use Tappy on a non Boox device. I thought this was a good video that might be helpful to some of you considering the Boox Go 6 Gen 2.

(Still getting pretty well acquainted with mine!)

US ppl : Boox Go 6 Gen 2 - where are y'all purchasing from?

Hi all, I have been following posts here on the Go 6 Gen 2 (thanks!), which some of you have purchased already. Where are y'all buying it from?

I have been waiting for it to appear on Amazon US, with no luck yet. I see that Best Buy is selling via a third party seller and B&H Photo. So share the details, where are you are purchasing from?

Edit: 28 June - I decided to purchase from B&H. I have purchased from them many times and I'm from the same region so I get things fast.

Polished vs unpolished software: does it matter to you?

I recently learned that there’s a Musnap Neo 2, which I’m trying out. Thanks to the creator of that amazing comparison site that we all use, for updating it to be there.

I was also interested in the Boox Go 6 (Gen 2), so I compared the two here. On paper and in reality, it is faster! No lags, but the software is unpolished, so I don’t know if I can keep it.

In the image attached, I was trying to access the developer options and this is what I got, even though the language is set to English.

I tried to make this short but help me out: Do you care if the software is polished or not? Share.

Buttons on ereaders: Yay, Nay, or Indifferent?

Hey all, just asking a question I haven’t seen discussed in a while here. How do you feel about buttons on ereaders? Do you prefer them or dislike them or are you indifferent?

Bonus question: If you have more than one ereader (which I’m sure is a good amount of you all), does this affect how you feel about buttons? Does this influence purchasing decisions?

Curious to read your thoughts.

An unlikely comparison: Viwoods AiPaper Reader + PB Verse Lite

Considering the discussion from a recent post about the Xtenik Android device that is coming at some point, I figured that I’ll make this post for informational purposes. These are my 2 ereaders, and I’m probably the only one to have both of these 😂

Let’s set the stage:
- There’s a PPI difference, obviously
- The PB (Pocketbook) is using the native app
- The Viwoods is using the Pocketbook app (a great reading app)
- These shots were taken late afternoon

Also, I already have a post on the Verse Lite so not reviewing it again. The AiPaper Reader, I wrote a comment with some details about it. TBD on a review for that.

My notes on the reading experience with them:
- I never use the light on the Viwoods Reader, too bright.
- Verse Lite dark mode is wonderful and turning on the front light at a lower level is pretty good.
- For me, the Viwoods can be read for a while but my hand starts to hurt with holding even though I have a popsocket
- I commonly start a library book or other books (non kobo) on the Viwoods Reader but finish on my Verse Lite
- Because of how white the screens are, I usually read with no light.

Feel free to ask general questions. I hope this is helpful. I’m just a lady that likes ereaders and reading.

[WTS] Kobo Clara BW in good condition, $75

Sold! Post will be deleted soon!

Hi all! I purchased this Kobo Clara from another user here, and I used it for a few months. I decided to move to another secondary device instead of having this one, so I wish to move it to a new home. The battery, operation, and screen are great.

It has an imperfection around the led light but while reading it is not something that is noticeable. Also the clear case has a mark from my sticker that is hard to capture.

$75, which includes shipping. (Everything you see is included, 2 cases and the Kobo.) Selling via PayPal Goods and Services, and US or Canada only. Please DM me to confirm interest and purchase. I am trying here first before doing Swappa.

I have tried and owned 2 Android ereaders previously. As I look again, I see ones that go from Android 10 to Android 16. When people ask about ereaders to buy, sometimes people here are quick to say, “That’s an old version of Android. I don’t suggest getting it” or a statement along those lines.

Does the version of Android really matter if you want to use reading apps? And if it does, how old is too old?
