Child of a narcissist- how to teach empathy?
Hi my half-sister (8) has a narcissistic mum, and when she’s with me and my dad (split parenting) she is generally very dysregulated. Prone to screaming and getting very upset over little things, being very rude, demanding with other children, quick to anger and very defensive with attempts to notify her on the impacts of her behaviour. I’m very worried that she’s not really developing empathy all that well. I don’t remember being at all like her at her age (I’m an adult and was raised with the same dad and different mum).
How best can I support her to develop empathy and feel more secure in herself?
