That should have been a real sub
I was 100% convinced. Also, yes, you found the mobile user
Do you have banner blindness?
Clarification: this poll includes both IRL and online ads, however if you’re disproportionately exposed to one of these (e. g. you use an adblocker and see very little ads online) answer based on your experience. Any degree of influence counts, even if the ad got you to think about the product for a brief moment that should be counted as influence
Guys look at this tiny broccoli floret, it’s so cute!
I found this in my broccoli today and it’s absolutely adorable. I love it so much. A shame I probably won’t be able to preserve it, but it’s just too cute to be eaten
Actually useful firmware-only new feature idea?
I find sleep tracking one of the most useful features in a smartwatch because it provides instant feedback on the sleep duration and, most importantly for me, time I fell asleep. It’s pretty hard to track manually because sometimes it takes me a long time. And that’s one of the few reliable sleep features, in my experience it’s no more than 3-5 minutes off.
Most other sleep-related features on the smart band aren’t great: sleep phase detection and smart wake are simply a guesstimation and they’re more of a gimmick (though the same could be said about most other fitness trackers).
However, there’s one feature that could be implemented without any new hardware and it would work fairly reliably: automatic nap alarms. When I take a nap in the afternoon, it’s difficult to predict (at least for me) whether I’ll fall asleep and when. At the same time I want to limit nap duration to awaken more easily. It would be great if the developers could add an option to pick a desired nap duration (e. g. 30 minutes) and allow your band to automatically wake you up when it detects that you have slept for that long.
There is some minor potential for abuse, of course, but I don’t think the risks are much greater than with other health-related measurements. And for how easy it is to add even to already existing bands via a firmware update, this would be a very useful feature to have. (Though, realistically, they would probably only include it in the newer models to sell them)
