A little more Everything Now.

I was emptying the contents of a classical music title packaged in a fatbox, and I found tucked inside the quasi newsletter insert from Everything Now--the fold-up insert with the lyrics and credits. Since I now had a copy that wasn't sealed up with my original CD, I scanned it. And since I don't have my old flickr account to share things like these, I thought I'd share the scans out here.
Except for the fold (in three) marks, the "blemishes" are features of the original.

Sigur Rós • Von (I assume that means “scary baby face”)

This is the only Sigur Rós album with average Dynamic Range measurements in the double-digits.

Bob Mould – Black Sheets of Rain

I scan all my CDs and covers, so this is my work—not images just grabbed from Discogs. This one’s a bit more raucous than Workbook from the year before. It’s still quite good and has a nice dynamic range.

Two just after longbox pressings.

At Goodwill, I picked up two soundtracks that share a couple attributes. 1. These are both from the period of time circa 1993 when the use of longbox packaging mostly ceased. The first generation of post-longbox releases often included holographic stickers—like the ones here at 3 o’clock on the case. I’m guessing the stickers were meant to show evidence of tampering or opening. Problem was…people quickly figured out that if they just opened the case at the hinges, the stickers could remain intact. These two stickers are broken but present on both sides. 2. These are both generally scarce titles—despite evidence that each has gone through several subsequent represses, all of them looking outwardly just like the originals. Repo Man (sought for its punk content) and Cat People (mostly sought for the uncommon David Bowie song). They are both upgrades for me, as my previous copies were both post-IFPI pressings with tell-tale holographic manufacturers marks in their matrices.
