Looking for part-time work as a 1st year college student
Hi, I’m 20 and currently in my 1st year of college. I’m looking to start earning through part-time work to manage my personal expenses since my financial support is limited.
I’ve completed a 1-month internship as a Research Analyst, where I worked on research, data collection, reporting, and basic Excel/Google Sheets tasks.
I’m open to:
- internships
- part-time jobs
- remote work
- freelance gigs
If anyone has genuine suggestions, platforms, or referrals, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you 😄

Current student at IEM Kolkata — sharing my experience
I’m currently studying at IEM Kolkata in CSE.
my_qualifications: Current BTech CSE student at IEM Kolkata.
A lot of students keep asking about attendance, placements, coding culture and campus life, so I thought I’d share my experience.
Pros:
- Competitive coding environment
- Decent placement opportunities
- Active tech events and coding culture
Cons:
- Strict attendance
- Academic pressure can get high
- Campus is smaller compared to some other colleges
Overall, I think IEM is good for students who are focused on placements and skill-building, but self-study is still very important.
If anyone has questions about hostel, academics, placements or campus life, ask below and I’ll answer honestly.
