Changing food brand for weightloss

I just adopted a cat that's quite overweight. I'm looking at different brands of food to help her get healthier, and I'm wondering if cat foods specifically marketed for weightless are really necessary or can I just get a brand that has really great ingredients? I like how Untamed looks because it looks like its all meat and none of the junky stuff that makes cats fat in the first place. Am I wrong to think that would be fine? Anyone have experience with overweight kitties and have some advice?

Just wanted to say to all the guys who may be putting it off that when you actually put effort into your home, it can really be worth it. I've been struggling with some depression after a breakup and got it in my head that I wanted to rearrange my living room. Not even sure why. I guess because she spent a lot of time here and there are a lot of memories so I wanted to slam the restart button so I'm not constantly being reminded of her in my own space. After rearranging it I went to a local art show with some friends and got a really cool piece that I hung over my couch and that instantly made me want to add more decor, so I got an app called roomika (imo this part made the process so much easier and more fun) and went all in on actually decorating my place for the first time ever. I swear it has put me in a better mood. I even bought myself a damn candle and lit it last night. I was sitting on my couch, admiring what I'd done and wondering why I'd been avoiding it for so long. So many guys I know underestimate the power of putting effort into their homes. Is it because they think it isn't manly? Are they just hoping a woman will show up and do it for them eventually? What's up with that?
