Diagnosed with shingles, need to pause only 4 injections in.

Hi everyone, I’m F35 and only 4 injections into my Mounjaro journey and unfortunately have had to pause treatment after being diagnosed with shingles.

A couple of weeks ago I posted about a strange burning/radiating pain and sensitivity in my arm that kept spreading. After seeing my GP and having it checked properly, it turns out it’s shingles, so I’ve now been told to stop my injections until my body has fully healed.

My doctor is also running further tests because they’re concerned I’ve developed shingles despite otherwise being relatively healthy and well.

My starting weight was 95.4kg and I’m currently 90.1kg. I’ve made a really conscious effort to improve my eating habits before and during starting Mounjaro, so I’m not overly worried about suddenly eating badly again. What I am worried about is the food noise and constant hunger returning, because that has always been my biggest struggle mentally.

I know I need to let my body recover properly because pushing through could make me really unwell, but I’m honestly feeling anxious about losing momentum this early on.

Has anyone else had to pause treatment early due to illness or side effects? How did you go mentally and physically while off it? Did the hunger/food noise come back immediately or was it manageable?

Would really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences.

Strange side effect

Hey everyone, I’m only 3 injections into my journey & over the last couple of days I have this sunburn sensation on the back of my left arm (tricep area). It’s not bad, just uncomfortable to touch. I will monitor it & advise my doctor but I’ve read it’s a side effect of Mounjaro. Has anyone else experienced this & how long did it take to go away? Or what was your experience with it?

Hi everyone, I took my second 2.5mg injection on Friday and actually felt so fine I was worried it wasn’t working.

Fast forward to Sunday morning and I honestly felt like I’d been hit by a bus. I’d also started the first day of my monthly cycle, and it was the worst period I’ve had in years. I could not move & didn’t leave bed all day.

Have any ladies noticed major changes to their cycle on Mounjaro? I’m curious whether this could be related or if it’s just bad timing

On a positive note, I’m not eating everything in sight like I usually do during my cycle 🤣
