The most painfully relatable moment(s) in the show to you and why?

Mine is a little embarrassing to admit (and I'm working on it!!) but I actually see myself reflected when i watch Carrie have a multiple day breakdown over Aidan not giving her the "stomach flip". I just get it. After a lifetime of dating avoidants, it almost feels weird when someone youre dating is just perfect and 100% available and obsessed with you right off the bat. Im so used to insane levels of pining, your heart skipping a beat when they finally text you, endless yearning etc etc that I almost love it. Therapy.. Now. I love Carrie but finding her relatable is my sign i might need counseling. Such is life

I get frustrated when the girls are too friendly to guys who dont deserve it

Sometimes the girls are waaay too forgiving/ patient/ people please-y with the icky guys theyre seeing and it makes me feel kinda frustrated for a few minutes. I guess it's pretty realistic, as women can sometimes feel desperate enough to ignore anything, but I still cannot believe the shit they let fly until it REALLY hits the fan. Some examples: Miranda sleeping with that guy who's bad at sex and faking one last orgasm for him, Sam continuing to blow that guy with the funky spunk even though she hated it, Charlotte being patient and understanding with the "fuck you whore" guy?? Also, not a boyfriend but Carrie not even calling that guy out for filming random models during sex.. it was different times yeah yeah but not even any anger from her?

Maybe I've just been seeing losers for 9 million years and I'm fed up, but a lot of these things the girls casually put up with would make me run for the hills screaming and flailing my arms. Maybe it upsets me because it reminds me of the BS women actually go through regularly

Miranda's reaction to Carrie in her wedding dress

Rewatching the first movie for the first time in years and I actually feel like such a sap right now over these two.. the look of love in Miranda's face here is almost overpowering. I'm so happy I have a Miranda in real life. It's such an experience to be loved like this and know it's not going anywhere.

Anyone else kind of repulsed by Aidan?

I'm not talking about the actor/ his face, he's a dreamboat and i love him in the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Aidan's personality is just sooo annoying to me that i almost have urges to skip both Aidan arcs whenever i rewatch. Even the way he talks pisses me off a little. The often demeaning tone, the constant teasing, even just his voice when hes trying to be funny annoys me real bad lol. He also just overstimulates me through the screen somehow. Singing and hooting and hollering in Carrie's kitchen. Him slapping the nicotine patch on as a punishment. Him screaming at her on multiple occasions. He's so ick to me, i cant believe anyone wanted that as endgame.

Also, i noticed he has this vibe where you can just TELL he knows he's a good guy, which is really offputting to me unfortunately. Cant stand it. It seems like it'd be really easy for him to become one of those dudes that are essentially like "these bitches never want a nice guy like me, nice guys finish last" like ewwww haha.

edit: just remembered the "twosies" "foursies" scene with the girl at the bar and how he "thought about" cheating on carrie. soo weird

Big really only saw Carrie as a friend with benefits instead of a girlfriend so many times

I'm on viewing 5 and I'm finally starting to hit clarity over just how much Big values the sexual part of their relationship over everything else. Common man behavior, I know, but he's so open about it that I cant believe Carrie never calls it out. He'll treat her like shit/ drive her crazy all day long, and then 3 seconds later slide in with the stupid innuendos like "im available for the other thing" or "I'm around if you need me.. for stuff ;)" like, God. So ick. He doesn't have an ounce of romantic in him, she's treated like a booty call! No "i miss you my beautiful girl", it's just "come fuck" with this guy....

Maybe I'm at that point in life where I finally have standards and picked up on it much more this time around. I just absolutely could not date someone that's only forward about their attraction to me when it's about getting some. It makes me so sad to see Carrie pining on the level she does because the man is so insanely weird. It even gives Madonna-Whore complex once you factor in Natasha, like damn.

Cant wait for better times

I feel kinda sad over the fact that my only comforts/joys in life these days are the outdoors, my television, and my two friends (one of them living hours away). I feel so damn alone lately. Like shit, Im grateful I'm alive and living in an apartment instead of on the streets. Im glad I even have a few joys, as opposed to none. But god man, i yearn for so, so much more. I'm feeling so damn depressed over how much better my life could be.

I just wish I could wake up as someone else sometimes. Someone who's better at socializing and has this whole "being a person" thing figured out better than me. So many fellow 20somethings I have met have a beautiful partner that they seem madly in love with, a tightknit mid-sized group of friends, and a seemingly unbreakable and non toxic bond with their parents... and I have none of those. I just wish I could have even one. It feels like it'd be a start. Life feels genuinely lacking without those things, and sometimes when I'm watching a movie and see these things, i almost cry.

I often daydream about getting to fall in love again, waking up everyday knowing that I've found the one. I daydream about getting drunk and having goofy movie marathons with a group of friends that I adore. I daydream about cozy family time with my alternate universe tightknit family. etc etc. If only dude. I just hope this all changes soon

Samantha's Fake Fendi moment in LA is the most relatable thing in the show

As someone who's a penny pincher/ broke bitch Im always dying laughing over that Samantha storyline every time. I love the idea that at least one of the girls is down with knock offs and does not give a FUCK. I also am always giggling over her saying "it should say 'made in china', and theres a bunch of condoms in there" at the Playboy party to try to confirm its her bag, shes actually my queen lmfaooooooo

The fight Steve and Miranda have over the half court shot is close to unwatchable for me

I literally cannot stand it. The moment he starts actually screaming and hollering at Miranda for not matching his exact energy about a hypothetical money prize... are you 12? It actually makes me so sad that Miranda didn't see this as a red flag at all. The idea of a man pretending to act all patient and soft with you to get close to you, but the second he's in your home he's yelling at you over some basketball bullshit.... ICK! If a man ever talked to me like that over a complete non issue that could be talked through normally, while im WORKING, i would pretty much spiritually and physically dry up around him permanently.

He's deeply and insanely immature for his age and that is the single worst thing about Steve. Way too damn whiny for a grown man. I'd feel like im dating my child. Rant over, i'm on that part of my rewatch and it made me so mad i had to come on here

The first round of Steve and Miranda is so dreamy

It's so GOOD in the beginning that i just want to babble about it lol. I love their first ever meeting, the way he makes her laugh, the cuddling scene where she finally gives up on some of her rules and stays in bed with him for an hour... it's so lovely & cute to watch the usually guarded miranda melt around a boyfriend in that way, i was literally smiling and giggling. I havent watched those eps in a bit & i totally forgot they had such intoxicating chemistry at first!!

It's mentioned that he's her first serious relationship in years and you can really feel it in all the lovey dovey moments. I know that feeling all too well, when you havent been in the serious dating pool for a bit and BAM, finally someone normal. My heart genuinely breaks when he dumps her and the tears slowly start filling her eyes, its so damn sad.

As for the later steve and miranda runs... he definitely loses me. He gets so immature and weird. Nearly begging for a baby, bringing that dog into their home, the shit marks in his underwear wtf lol. He was so considerate and smooth at first, we miss you S2 Steve

Series finale makes me sob like a baby

Just finished my 4th viewing and the final episode got me, as it always does. The tears just start at one point and never stop until the episode ends lol. Charlotte and Harry seeing a photo of their child, Magda giving Miranda that soft kiss on the forehead, Samantha being so loved & cared for by Smith, Carrie back in NYC.. GOD!!!! I love my girls and I love my show.

This ep is so special i just love it. It's so full of heart and humor simultaneously. Anyways i'm starting again from the top right now, as i am an addict

Carrie's scream

I don't like to over-hate on Carrie, she's fun and actually my fave character out of the main 4 (as i love complex protags). But that scream is so fucking unbearable to me that it's my least fave part of the entire show. I'm on my 4th watch and I find myself disliking the sound more and more each time I hear it. It's just so extra?? She sounds like a shrieking animal or something.

Why in the hell are you screaming that HARD and LOUD over a squirrel, over rain, over a person surprising you.. it literally just feels like a mix of performative and insanely annoying. It reminds me of the girls in high school that would scream when someone turned the lights off. Please be calm. I've admittedly started muting my tv whenever i know it's about to happen. Anyone else this icked out by it or am I crazy?? will say i do have sensory issues and maybe the high pitched nature of it literally sets off a demon inside me. But it is so deeply, deeply unnecessary and awful to me i just had to vent online.
