I built "Minute It" - Stitch your photos & videos into short recap videos, automatically. On-device, no ads.

**Minute It** — turns the photos & videos already on your phone into short recap videos, generated entirely on-device. No editing, no sorting.

Good for: parents capturing how fast their kids grow, turning a trip into one watchable clip, or tracking a change over time — one user even told me he made a recap of his last few months of weight-loss progress.

Why Minute It?

• Simple — Super easy to use. No clip-trimming, no editing skills needed.

• Private — your photos and videos never leave your phone. Every recap is built on-device, with no cloud upload and no account to sign up for.

• No ads — nothing interrupting your memories.

Would love feedback on the first-run experience and whether the recaps feel worth sharing.

After 6 years of monthly family recap videos, I built my own — Minute It: 100% on-device, no editing, no ads

Hi r/SideProject

Seven years ago my daughter was born and I started taking a ton of photos and
videos of our family. I do go back to them, but actually turning a month of
scattered clips and shots into something I'd happily sit down and watch? That
part is a chore, and I hardly ever got around to it.

Years ago an other beautiful app solved that for me:
instead of organizing anything, my month just turned into a short recap I
could watch. The recap format was the whole magic: no editing, no sorting,
just a minute of the month.

Seeing my kids grow up month by month through these recaps brings my wife and
me so much joy. And while I was putting this post together, I came across one
of those clips — my grandmother holding my newborn daughter. After she passed
away, it became priceless to me. I guess that's just how life goes: joy and
bitterness, people who join us for a while, and people who leave.

So anyway, in February 2025 I started building a small app to do that
automatically for my own family, and after a year (on and off) of evenings
and weekends it became "Minute It".

What it does:

  • Manual Mode: hand-pick your own photos and videos — a trip, an event, a whole season — and turn them into a memory video.
  • These two modes render right on your phone in a minute or two — no upload, no accounts are needed.
  • No Ads

Stack: Flutter, with the native render + text-overlay pipeline (Media3 on
Android, AVFoundation on iOS) doing the work locally.

It started as a problem for one family (mine). It just went live on both the
App Store and Google Play, and I'd love honest feedback — the concept, the
onboarding, pricing, whether the recap actually feels worth watching.
