Does anyone know how to get this water pump impeller off? It doesn’t have a head for me to grab on to with a socket, so I’m really not sure what to do. I’m just trying not to break it. I haven’t been able to find anything online that resembles it, I’ve only seen the metal ones. I’ve been following the 1998 YZ125 manual that I found online because I can’t seem to find a 1999 manual, so I figured close enough, and it shows what looks like an impeller with a hex head that a socket can attach to. Could this be aftermarket? Thank you!

Hey guys, I’m new to dirt bikes so I was hoping for some help. I picked up a 1999 YZ125 on Thursday and I’m just having some trouble getting it to run and was hoping someone might have an idea of what to do. It starts with choke, has a low idle, and dies when choke is off. Hard to start after that. New spark plug, fuel line, and just cleaned the carb. Fresh fuel, 32:1 ratio, 91 octane, VPracing oil. Dry rotted O ring on fuel petcock so it leaks but the flow to the fuel line is not affected. Air screw is at 2 turns out. Potentially flooded the spark plug 4 days ago so I let the bike sit 24 hours then swapped plugs. It ran one week ago when i bought it, took a couple of kicks but it would run and ride. When I rode it the bike would bog after corners and hit what felt like rev limiter too soon, before the powerband. I think I’m going to check the carb again. I could see through the pilot just, but I’m going to check float/needle too. Attached photos are the throttle valve. When I pulled it there was like rust scoring on it, but moved as it should from what I could tell.

Negotiated down to $1,200. Is it worth it? Supposedly runs well, new clutch, and new tires. Never had a bike before, but pretty handy with atv motors. TIA!
