Good place to get minor work and scope setup on a rifle?

I have a rifle that I need minor work done on. I’d also like to have the gunsmith take it out and zero a new scope. Any good recommendations? I took it to Silver Eagle Group but the couldn’t accommodate the caliber (.338 Lapua, so that’s another requirement).

Gunsmith? Squib Fire and Scope Zero, Northern Virginia

I have a Ruger Precision Rifle. I took it to the range and had a squib fire. The cartidge is stuck in the barrel and it won't eject when I cicle the bolt.

In addition, I'm having an issue zeroing my scope. I had the scope zeroed perfectly but I swapped scopes (both had a cantilever so I just uhncooked it from the rail and swapped. The second scope wasn't zeroed and I swapped back and now I'm having issues. I have already sent the scope back to Vortex to get it checked and they said everything's fine. t's definitely a me problem, but I'm sick of messing with it and wasting ammo and I'd just like to take it to a professional.

My question is, does anyone have recommendations of gunsmiths that could both zero the scope to 100 yards? and service the spuib issue? I'd prefer if after they fix the zero they let me know what I did wrong so that I can learn and fix the issue on the other. I'm not sure if I need to go to a gunsmith tied to a range like the Silver Eagle Group.

I know Silver Eagle Group has a wait of 4 weeks. Do all gun stores have this capability (or most). I usually get my stuff through Trojan Arms and Tactical. I'll probably call them tomorrow too.

Has anyone ever filed an EEO complaint? If so, what happened?

Not about the outcome of the case, but what happened after you filed during the case? I imagine you’d be a pariah.

Did the discrimination get worse? Did they retaliate? Did you get put on leave or moved?

I know they’re not supposed to retaliate, but if they’re already doing it, why stop.

Newb Scope Zeroing Question

I have a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 creedmoor. It’s the custom version. I have a Vortex Viper PST Gen II on it. Before the winter I was taking it to the local range and shooting a 6x6” target without making any adjustments.

During the winter break, I put another scope on.

I took it to the range and couldn’t hit a 3x3 foot target at 25 yards. I swapped the new scope with the old scope and can’t hit the same target. I put the scopes on a different gun with the same results (no hits). Tonight I’m using a laser bore sight and I can’t get the reticle on the laser. Windage is fine but the elevation will only go down about 10” over the dot on both scopes. The scope won’t go down any further.

I sent the vortex back to the factory and they found no issues. This is clearly a me problem but I’m out of ideas. I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas, I’m also wondering why it worked 6 months ago. I haven’t dropped the gun or the scopes. They’re kept in a nice case in the house. Minimal humidity and temp changes. Thanks,

For DOT Folks: how is your mode behaving?

I work for a mode within DOT. It’s an extremely hostile work environment. SESs and 15s are making the rest of the organization miserable. I’ve been here for 15 years and in government for 30 and I’ve never seen anything like it.

SESs are micromanaging check-ins at desks (not the building or via PIV card (they’re doing that too), they’re getting in screaming matches, they floated the idea of cameras over desks, they’re forcing demotions of several people (I’m guessing to fit to the new org chart), etc.

For those at DOT, are you seeing the same things? I’m specifically talking about senior management within the department or modes, or are we unique?

I’m interested in what others are seeing within DOT.

I’m new, what does this mean?

So a friend group started using WhatsApp. I’m new and can’t figure out if people have read my message. When I get info on the message I see the following link n the screenshot.

Two grey checks so I know it’s been delivered but the two blue checks with three dots next to it instead of a time is throwing me off. Does this mean it’s been delivered but not read? Or that it has been read? And what do the three dots mean?
