No idea what to do with old workstation pc.
Hi everyone.
A few years back around 2023 I bought a thinkstation p320 as a computer to mess around with.
I have barely used it outside of 1 instance when my other pc broke.
I put the ram, cpu and storage in it as it came without them.
A few weeks I was messing around in the bios to try and fix the fans being unnecessary loud. I switched the fan option to be to “quiet mode” and that’s where the problem escalated.
Now the pc only outputs a signal if it boots into the operating system. The bios or boot menu show a black screen/nothing but they definitely can be accessed and used just can’t see.
I was thinking of repurposing the computer as a gaming machine. But motherboard replacements seem to be more than I paid for the machine.
It does turn on but beeps due to no ram. It has been sitting around for a while unused. I do have a 650 watt bequiet psu I could use for turning it into a decent machine the only thing is the board is limited to quad core processors and has a proprietary 250 watt psu.
Any advice is welcome, thank you
Edit: corrected proprietary psu wattage 300 to 250
