VOTE NO ON 4 And 5

Polls are open until 7 pm! Get out there and stop Missouri politicians from taking away your rights and increasing your taxes. This is a rare instance in which our vote actually makes a difference.

Visit your local hardware store

I’ve had an epiphany recently regarding big box hardware stores; they suck.

We’re lucky to have some good local options for lawn, home, and hardware. I’ve had great experiences with El Mel in St. Charles for lawn and garden, and Schneider True Value in St. Peter’s for hardware. I also recently visited the Farmers Co-Op in St. Peter’s and had a good experience.

The staff at these shops actually want to help you. Lowe’s or Home Depot don’t care.

If you have other local shops you frequent, please comment below!

My friend and his wife (35M/F) treated me and my wife (33 M/F) incredibly rudely while she was in dental school. Is this acceptable behavior?

One of my very close friends and his wife have been pretty distant and honestly rude to my wife and me throughout the entire time she was in dental school, and it’s left me feeling pretty conflicted.

Over the past 2–3 years, we’ve invited them to dinners, game nights, sports games, and other social events more times than I can count, and almost every time there was some excuse or reason they couldn’t come. On the rare occasion they or one of them did attend, they wouldn't stay long and would always find an excuse to leave. "She had a long day". "The dog needs to be let out".

At first we tried to be understanding because dental school is demanding and everyone gets busy, but after a while it started to feel personal because they still seemed to have plenty of time to spend with his in-laws. They don't have many other friends.

Now that dental school is over, suddenly they want us to come to the graduation party and celebrate her success with them like none of that ever happened. A part of me feels frustrated because it’s hard to ignore feeling brushed off for years, only to now be invited back in for a major life event. Part of me even feels like they are completely oblivious. I've brought up my frustration before and it's always been met with "everything's fine", just for the same pattern of behavior to continue.

I honestly can’t tell if I’m overreacting or if my feelings are justified. Curious how other people would handle this situation.
