Got a brand new OPZ. What have your favorite devices to pair it with been?

Pretty sure I got one of the few unopened OPZ’s in existence coming to me. I had one of these years ago and I loved it and I’ve been thinking about it every so often lately and as soon as I found a brand new one I went for it and bought it.

In the past, I never really used the OPZ with other products. I just built songs on it by itself. Now I have an Elektron model cycles and a computer with Ableton. What set up has given you the best results?

S-tier mixers?

In general, I think the better the whiskey, the better the mixer. I was mixing Weller full proof with diet ginger ale tonight and it was fucking great. But in value terms, one should probably find the best lowest-cost whiskey to mix. Obviously. I need to be more careful to observe this because, being a lazy man, I will mix anything and be happy doing it. Even the top shelf stuff.

I need to find some low-cost bottles that’ll knock my socks off in ginger ale and lime, or cola for the money. What’s the best you can get along these lines?

Accepted to my local SR Valley

I’m out in Buffalo, New York and I’m excited to see another side of the craft. The secretary at the Valley of Buffalo advised that degrees usually start up in September, but I’m more than welcome to attend several functions as a guest (baseball game, Shakespeare in the park [which is a very cool buffalo tradition], a picnic). I’m leaning towards just waiting for the degrees to start and to get my introduction with the material and go from there and build the relationships. Truth be told I haven’t been to lodge in about 5 years or more, blue Lodge, that is, because it just wasn’t exactly clicking for me socially. But on the flip-side of that, I’m also in a different and better place in life (married, a homeowner, with good job, things have gotten a lot more stable). So I’m probably more likely to be consistent and reliable in my attendance and not have such a short cable tow. I’d admit I was immature before and I’m probably a little more ready to engage now.

Anyway, long story short I had a couple questions. Do you Brothers think it would be wiser to get a head start and meet people and start building those relationships early or does it not matter? Also, is there anything I can do to prepare intellectually, spiritually, etc., for the experience? It occurred to me to brush up on blue Lodge ritual because boy am I rusty.

This upcoming fall, I intend to attend my mother blue lodge, and participate in the functions of the valley. I’m not old at all, but I know later in life having those tried and true relationships is really important to being happy and healthy. And I hope I can help others be happy and healthy as well and just be a good friend and Brother.

Anyway, thanks for reading and looking forward to the experience.

Lady standing on street corners downtown holding up a cross?

I’ve seen her every week for over a year now. What’s her deal? Anyone know who I’m talking about?

Tasty treats for those who rely on Friends of Night People.

My wife Liz and I are Buffalo New York residents and we volunteered a bunch of times at Friends of Night People. We noticed that businesses donate a lot of food and some of it is pretty subpar. And we noticed also that demand is mostly around high calorie portable sweet tasty treats. We totally get that and highly identify with that. Liz turns 40 on May 22 and we want to buy bulk sweet treats from local grocers to deliver a load of the good stuff to FONP so they can distribute these. We did not confer with anyone or coordinate with them, we just want to buy and deliver fresh retail stuff on Friday. Please see attached image and if you care to, please donate to Liz so she can make a big impact. I thank you in advance.

I’m thinking about branching out to an appendant body and I’d like to know why you love being a Valley member and what you’ve gotten out of it in terms of knowledge and brotherhood. I’m a seldom attending blue lodge member after a few years of heavy participation, and I miss the craft. Looking for something different. Thank you in advance!

I think I’ve been to most Thai restaurants and Pan Asian restaurants that serve Thai food in the Buffalo area. Not one has got my favorite Thai dish.

Anybody know where to get a bowl?
