Gates to Infinity>Super Mystery Dunegon
Just finished my second ever play through of Super and wow it’s by far the worst PMD imo. Still not a bad game on the whole, but pretty disappointing. I played it when it came out and it’s the only one I haven’t played several times, and for good reason. It’s insanely sluggish, with the Serene Village section feeling like a ridiculously long tutorial, and then only a few days of the regular grind once you hit Lively Town and the continents open up before you get dragged through the end game story which FINALLY feels like PMD. The whole pacing is just odd. Leveling too.
I’m really excited to get into the expansive post game, but I just don’t feel like that gets to excuse the base game. The base game is just so lackluster relative to the other three
