Missed keypresses & typos with an Akko 3098B
I don't know if it's because I'm a grub or shed lots of hair (I don't eat or drink on my workstation) but my Akko 3098b mechanical keyboard often has keys that don't register when pushed down.
I can get it to work consistently if I push down very hard, but when touch typing it sometimes fails. The only way to fix it (for a little while) is to remove the switch and put a new switch in. Then the problem crops up somewhere else and I have to replace that switch too. I've bought 3 boxes of switches of different types from AKKO and I think they have the same issues. The switch socket is clean and I don't see any dirt in it.
is there any kind of special switch / mechanism that is dust-free and won't have the same issue?
I'm looking to get a new keyboard to do away with this problem once and for all (Budget up to $150 Australian, and I want a 96% form factor, preferably a linear switch that is smooth / quiet, and no preferences on material of the chassis or keycaps),
I'm planning to visit Tokyo again next year not just for work but for vacation purpose (Green Expo). Unfortunately my work isn't paying for my accommodation so I have to foot the entire bill myself. Can anyone share your experiences with staying in a monthly rental property? I was comparing prices and found that most properties in close vicinity of a train station are so expensive that their final price is almost equivalent to a budget business hotel. And you're also giving up luxuries like house keeping, having free amenities like soap, toothbrush and clean sleepwear.
Like everything points to budget business hotels being the better option for solo travellers.
