Animal/bird stuck halfway down chimney, fireplace boarded. What to do?

Hi guys, I’m a first time renter and my landlord doesn’t respond after 5pm and overall is an awful landlord and probably won’t even offer to help.

This animal has been stuck for days now, and I’m unsure if it’s coming or going but all I can hear is scratching and debris falling. My biggest concern is that it’s on the second floor where my bedroom is, and a vent connects through the wall (if it dies, it will invite flies and a god awful smell into the bedroom)

I’m in touch with a wildlife rescue but my fireplace is bolted with a metal plating that will more than likely cause damage if removed (it’s also been painted over and seems to be chipping apart anyways) and no way to get permission from the landlord before the animal dies because of their awful communication.

Please kind answers only because I feel dumb posting here but really don’t know what I’m supposed to do

Does anyone remember these Animal Bars or know if they still exist anywhere?

Saw this photo and instantly got hit with nostalgia 😭 Feel like every kid in the UK had these at some point. Half the fun was trying to work out what animal was stamped into the chocolate.
