I'm an author. Recommend your scifi/horror books to me

I'm an indie author myself, and I'm looking for some indie author books to read and review since we all need that help. Pitch me your books if you write in SciFi/Horror.

I'm not into fantasy/romance/literature so much. I have enjoyed some absolute bangers outside of those genres like Lonesome Dove, Alive(nonfiction book about plane crash survivors), The Gray Man series.

I feel like we need more of this kind of help to get noticed since we all read.. or most of us I'd assume.

EDIT: I'm blown away from the positive response and messages I've received over this post. you all rock. I've got some reading to do now. don't forget to support your fellow indie authors since we could all use a little help

Lonesome Dove. F me. Ended up loving it

Just finished Lonesome Dove. Wow (spoilers!!)

I just finished the whole of Lonesome Dove and wow. It was my FIRST western ever. It was really tough for me to get into at the very beginning and my God did I fall in love. I don't care what anyone says because I'm right when I SHOUT LOUDLY (as he would-i shed a tear) that Captain Augustus McCray is the best character in the book. He was my favorite through and through because in the end he was a good dude. He was solid in many ways.

The characters felt well fleshed out. I genuinely felt like I knew them. It's hard to hit that perfect zone of too much and not enough info/lore/etc.

Any suggestions for where to go from here? Heard mixed reviews on the rest of the series but may try book 2. Louis L'Amour? Seen that pop up in pop culture like dungeon crawler carl and somewhere else too.

Anyone else want to chime in on favorite characters or scenes?

Death From Life by Ethan Matthews - Gritty Hard SciFi Book

I dropped a gritty scifi book on amazon for anyone who may be interested in the genre/story. I pulled inspiration from all of those classic 80's/90's horror and scifi flicks i loved watching with my dad when i was young. If anyone has any questions or thoughts I'd love feedback. Thanks and happy reading!

Death From Life by Ethan Matthews

A greedy corporation, named Black-Star, has built a small space station/laboratory inside of one of Jupiter's moons. They sent a crew there to get set up and prepared to experiment on valuable alien life discovered on the distant planet, Hades.

A second crew is returning from Hades with the alien lifeforms onboard after they all nearly perished while capturing the deadly creatures. Black-Star wants to exploit the aliens for personal gains, the crew just wants to survive, and the aliens do what they do best, kill.

As an indie author, I see that lots of us struggle with getting reviews. I was curious if there is any kind of "friends" group thing going on. we can all group together by genres we're interested in, read each other's indie books, and leave reviews.

We're all here for the same reason, but how many people come to this sub to FIND a book vs. promote theirs. I'd imagine some do but probably not as many as there could be.

Anyway...just a thought if we had enough people who wanted to group up by genre...ARC read and leave reviews. some people on here hover with zero reviews. Thanks for your time and happy writing everyone!

If anyone is looking for a new read to occupy your time, check out Death From Life by Ethan Matthews. It has corporate greed, aliens being captured and exploited, experiments on alien lifeforms, and cool futuristic weapons.

Description:

In the year 2180, a company on Earth named Black-Star privately exudes corporate greed, and they’ve found other lifeforms in the universe through space exploration. They hope to advance medicine and technology by leaps and bounds through the amazing opportunities they’re seeking to exploit in space.

One of their ships named the Orpheus carries a crew to Callisto, one of Jupiter's moons, now that the company has set up a space station and laboratory there. Its sister ship, the Persephone, is on its way back from a planet named Hades with alien lifeforms collected there for experimentation. It was a disastrous trip with only one person leaving unscathed, a Black-Star employee who will do anything to be the man in charge.
