Google wants to charge me almost the price of a new Pixel 9a after an RMA
I sent my Pixel 8a in for repair because the top speaker was crackling and the USB-C port was unreliable (charging would sometimes disconnect or not work at all).
The display was fully functional when I sent it in. The phone only had a few minor scratches from normal use and no cracked screen.
I've now received a repair quote that's close to the price of a brand-new Pixel 9a. From what I can tell, they're claiming the display needs to be replaced, even though it worked perfectly and wasn't damaged.
Has anyone else experienced something similar with Google's repair/RMA process? Is there a way to challenge their assessment or request evidence of the damage they found?
Any advice would be appreciated.
