Impressions after 3 hours (Ps5 Pro)

Just wanted to pitch in if anyone is curious - I've been playing the remake for about 3 hours so far and these are my impressions:

- Yes, it sucks that there's no 60 fps mode BUT the frame pacing is in my experience rock solid and after around 30 minutes my eyes had completely adjusted to the locked 30. Heres hoping they will patch in a performance mode, but the game is most definitively playable.

- The game is very much still gothic. You will be slapped about and stomped on and Alkine managed to capture this part very well in the early hours. Luckily the load times are super snappy.

- Exploration is as fun as ever and just like old gothic, vertically and platforming still has a big presence.

- The game is beautiful. I've read comments saying it looks like a Ps4 game and that is just flat out not true. The world is highly detailed, the lighting is exceptional, weather effects are super awesome (cosy even?), the ambience is very much there.

- The music is GOAT, so immediately recognizable, but ever so slightly enhanced and it just slaps, no pointers.

- Dear LORD the game is buggy. I could easily forgive the 30 FPS lock if the game just worked and this is by far the most detrimental part of the game right now. In 3 hours I've experienced two hard crashes, I've gotten stuck, facial animations have bugged out, two quests bugged and I had to reload earlier saves and probably the most annoying issue, the audio will without fail always bug out after around 30 - 60 minutes of play. More and more sound effects will disappear, sometimes they are played back very loud out of the blue as if they are delayed. The only fix was restarting the game, loading a save did not fix it. By some truly divine cosmic influence, the only sound that always seems to work are Mud's f*cking voicelines, absolute cinema.

I think there's something very special here, even if it is stuck at 30 fps, please just squash the meatbugs <3
