Gothic Remake - The Miniature Trailer

Hi Gothic friends, very happy to announce that I got the chance to make the official ‚Gothic Remake‘ miniature trailer :) I played the original video game as a teenager and now, many many years later, I got the opportunity to be a small part of this project - sometimes dreams can come true! Thanks for watching :)

Stuck with The Banner of Banners (Ulu-Mulu quest). Getting really desperate :(

I have the following items in my inventory:

1 Shadowbeast Horn
1 Prime Troll Tusk
2 Teeth of a Swampshark Mother
3 Prime Tongues of Fire

But my hero still tells Tarrok that he doesn't have everything needed to make the Ulu-Mulu.

I read somewhere that I need a "normal" Tongue of Fire (from a small Fire Lizard) and not the prime one. The problem is that there are no small Fire Lizards left on my map (I have looked everywhere), as I killed them many hours ago (and they are not respawning). However someone else said that the Prime Tongue of Fire should work as well, so I'm really confused.

I'm starting to get really desperate because I've spent so many hours trying to solve this.

Can someone give me a rundown of Gothic lore?

Title. I played and finished Gothic 2 NOTR (Paladins FTW), but I only somewhat played the first and third installments, the first because I figured the controls would ease me out of being comfortable with other RPGs, and the third because... is it controversial to say I didn't like Gothic 3?

So I come to World of Gothic for information on what I missed, if anything.

The reason I ask is because I'm about to try and make Gothic Total War work, and it seems to have factions I've never heard of, like Nordmar and the Assassins / Nomads. Are they Chronicles of Myrtana content? I should get around to playing that...

...But I'm getting off track, and I simply ask for the deep and intricate lore that Piranha Bytes came up with for "viking faction" and "desert faction".

The Shadowbeasts should be nocturnal hunters in G2R

One of the things I would have liked to see in G1R is for Shadowbeasts to leave their caves at night and go roaming in the forests, kinda similar to what they do in G2 Classic. I really hope we get to see more unique animal behaviour like this in a potential G2 remake!

Yes, it's true...that man has no dick.

Who do YOU think is missing their manhood in the Old Camp? My nugs are on Bullit.

I haven't played the original so this is all new to me. I absolutely love how little handholding there is in this game, the game is so much fun.

I love figuring everything out myself in games, I feel like this game does an amazing job of forcing you to be curious about exploration, dialogue and combat. I am loving it!

>!I joined !<>!New Camp as I prefer their mentality, I am now in Chapter 3. Just joined the mercenaries and became a water mage.. I have a lot of LP saved up so now I am Circle 4 water mage. I now mostly use spells in combat, but sometimes have to go back to the sword.!<

Nameless spends most of his adventures in the Gothic trilogy searching for ancient artifacts left behind by legendary figures and restoring their power, but does he leave any new artifacts of his own by the end of G3?

In 1000 years is there an artifact left somewhere in some ancient ruin that fans could point to and say "oh wow that the X artifact that we made to defeat Y!" Maybe the Ulu-Mulu? But even that is something that some orcs already made several of.

Sharing exicement - Gothic 1 Othello

I just wanted to share my excitement with you all.

For a long time, I avoided playing Gothic 1 again. It had been many years since the last time I played it, and the mod eventually became a bit exhausting. (I don't remember which one it was anymore.)

I've started Gothic 2 mods again and again, but often never finished them because of how big they are. I rarely have the time to invest heavily in gaming for weeks at a time. Then maybe the next game catches my interest, and after three months I'm completely lost in Archolos, for example. Hands up if you feel the same way.

A few weeks ago, I started Gothic 1 Othello. The first changes to the game world were modest, but still noticeable. The area around the Exchange Place and the path from the Old Camp to the New Camp have been noticeably changed, but are still largely recognizable. Then I reached the Old Mine. The path there was already quite different, and I was glad to have Graham's map of the Old Mine.

Yesterday, I finally made it to the Swamp Camp, and it has been completely reworked! Even the path leading there is completely different. I was genuinely worried that I wouldn't find my way back to the Old Camp. I've fallen in love with this beautiful game all over again. Listing everything else the mod changes about the base game would go beyond the scope of this post.

But I'll definitely keep you all updated. 😁

Have fun with all your gaming passions.

Will Cavalorn getting mad at me ever be fixed?

I know it’s his hut, but it’s actually hard to catch him outside, and I just want to trade lol.

Don’t remember him getting mad in the original. In Gothic 2, it was definitely possible to walk into NPC’s huts to talk to them.

Bestiarium III - Beasts of Khorinis

Since I could get any of the lizzard plates even though I still had a few on the map I thought I was somehow locked out of the quest / achivement but there were two issues going on.

  1. In German it says you need to kill Razzors but thats not truth. You need to get them from Warane (and be careful you'll not get them from fire warane)

  2. You can easily buy them from Cavalorn. Which I did, I somehow could only buy 1 from him, but that was enough and he accepted it for the quest.

Is there any way to leave the battle against final boss?

Since teleport runes dont seem to work, I'd appreciate helpful comments.

A finacial report from THQ Nordic states, that the G1 Remake is approaching it's break-even point and is going to be "profitable very soon"

I know, we basically got the G2 Remake confirmed by Alkimia themselfes but I was expecting that G1 Remake would have been profitable already at this point when THQ Nordic greenlit the next game. I'm quite surprised that a game, that isn't profitable in it's first month is still concidered a success.
